Chris I live close to the canal.
I am down there often even though they completely shut down the north side to make it a walking path for the whole 6 people a week that walk there.
My hard bags came in yesterday, I cant wait to do another trip.

You're soooo lucky!! I most recently played on the south side of the canal about a month ago. Tons of fun!!!
Welcome aboard and to all the useful info in here. Sounds like that group of 6 has some dubious political clout, unfortunatley so common anymore. Hope you and other riders can get that issue fixed. The Blue Ribbon folks might be of some use there.

Mind you, I'm only retiring in the sense that I'm moving on from my career in the fire service. I'll still "work" but it'll be something other than running in to chaos.
