many thanks Rod -

Hey...how'z your wrist getting along..?
You're very welcome!!!

Wrist is doing fine! I don't think I will ever have full (100%) mobility, but overall it is doing great. On my recent ride down to Camp Wood TX, I did a 700+ mile day and it was fine.

Thanks for asking!

:)

okay..more info -
night to day light really explains it, friends.
easy install...ballasts on this package are very slim...you could opt for the 55W'ers and get more light, but the bigger ballasts too.

pretty snappy to plug n play too.

On the GSA for both sides we had to dremel out the bulb hole a tick larger - but - the kit supplied has a larger rubber stopper for the lamps.

sah-lick...

I've already checked for clearances on the Supa10 when I was riding the demo in KS.

Plenty o' room to stick the slim line ballasts on either side of the inner "fairing" on the blue one I rode.

Seems to be a simply 30 minute install...depending on how crazy you get with hiding wires and such.

Having done one already should prove to be easier 'cause I've already been there...but the "take your time" approach is always a good measure to use.

I have read that HID conversions are illegal in some states, so you may want to check before converting, or at least have the old lights handy to swap out for inspections and/or citation satisfaction. I guess I'm not too worried about it cuz I already have LED turn signals to put on, and I know that they are not DOT approved.

I've heard that as well, but expect the law is aimed at those conversions that are so badly aimed and/or obviously not even close to OEM (too blue looking). I would think if a person uses a good quality kit and has a good installation, the LEO's would never have any reason to even question them.

I have two Pilot Xenon kits (H7 4300K) fitted on my XT1200Z. These Pilot kits are very popular here in Europe as they are of very high quality and have the slimmest ballast/transformer on the market. It only measures 70 x 60 x 10 mm. I had my dealer fit them on my XT1200Z (cuz I'm lazy... :-[ ), but I have fitted them myself on my XJR1300 a year ago, and it is just plug and play.

The reason for choosing 4300 K is because that is the true daylight and OEM spec colour. Research shows that this 4300K "colour" produces the most effective light and causes the least stress for your eyes. An interesting read on Xenon and "colour" is: http://www.intellexual.net/hid.html#photos

Pro line Xenon info:

This upper picture shows the ballast in nearly true size.

The H7 bulb is a single filament bulb with 2 terminals.
The H4 bulb found in some other motorcycles is a dual filament bulb with 3 terminals

We have a shutter that moves inside the housing for hi/low, you can hear it move. same light intensity high and low, just more of it on high.

Hmmm, a single filament means it is all gone when it burns out and not just a low or high. I better carry at least one spare, huh.

Yes, but there are two bulbs lit all the time, so you will not loose all illumination.

Remember not to touch the glass of the bulb when installing.
