This morning I'm heading out for my first major ride of the year - and also my first major ride since breaking my wrist this winter. I'll be riding as far as Lubbock TX today and then on down to Camp Wood TX tomorrow. This is a STOC event (CheapSTOC). I plan to head up to McKinney TX on Sunday and spend a couple days with my daughter and her family. Wednesday I will ride to Albuquerque and spend the evening/overnight with friends before heading on home Thursday.

Hope the weather cooperates and the wrist holds up!!!

If you see a '08 FJR rolling down the road anywhere along that approximate route - WAVE!!! It may be me!!!

;)

Made it into Lubbock as planned last night. Right at 600 miles, the last several hundred we had a terrible cross-wind. The wrist was more than a little sore/tired, but after about an hour (and 4 Ibuprofen), it was doing okay. On into Camp Wood today. Still ever bit as warm, but the winds were more in our favor today. Dodged a LOT of 4 legged critters today, along with several vultures that were feeding on the highway.
After we rolled in and checking out the bike, I discovered my rear tire is MUCH closer to the wear bars than i thought. Sooooo, rather than the side trips that I had planned on my way home - I will now ride straight home Sunday. Oh well - another time!

I will post a few pictures when I get home and continue to update everyone how the trip is going.

Thanks for all the well-wishes!!

Rod
