Has anyone here bought a set of these? (CF side panels)

Doesn't appear to be true carbon fiber. It's carbon over fiberglass. Too cheap for real carbon as well. Probably more than I would want to pay for fiberglass backed pieces. After a tip over you may have to buy them again.

3M sells some pretty cool looking carbon fibre looking wrap. I'm seen guys use their colored wrap to change their bikes color and it came out nice.

I would stick with the OEM or plasic myself because it's one of the places on the bike that can get a lot of minor/medium scratches so why spend a lot of money on that area when you can spend it on something that makes a difference in the actual ride, like shocks?

Hmmm, I didn't even think about a "wrap" instead of paint or real CF.. Can be replaced or pulled off when wanted or needed.

Yup, that's one of the best parts... if you do end up messing it up in a tip over, just remove and install some new stuff. I don't have any personal experience with it but 3m sent me some sample squares showing many colors/textures and they looked very nice.

Those Carbon Fiber panels are REAL. At least the part you see, anyway, which is all that matters, because they are nothing more than bling. They might have a fiberglass base, but that is not a bad thing because it gives them more flexibility. You have to figure out a way to attach the OEM grids or fab some mesh of your own for all of the openings. You also have to get a little creative attaching the radiator ducting, but all in all, they are cool looking, which is exactly their purpose.

Not sure what purpose they would serve but they look cool. I would rock em. save your OE panels in case your bike takes a bad nap.
