Traded my 2010 KTM 990 Adventure for a 2013 Super Tenere a couple months ago. Managed to put 2,500 kms on the bike before winter descended. I will get through the winter somehow. Lots of stuff to do the bike to get it in shape for next year's travels. Things done so far are:

Eastern Beaver PC-8 Auxillary Fuse Box

Highway Dirt Bikes Top Clamp

Rox Risers (1 3/4 inch)

Wired in my Garmin Zumo 660, Heated Grips, Heated Gear Controller and the pigtail for the battery charger.

Next up is crash protection and luggage. Can't wait until spring!

You can see my bike in my Avatar.

Cheers, David

Welcome to the club. Met about 10 S10 owners in Calgary so far. Looking at your list of after market goodies, I don't see the Free Clutch Switch Mod which gives you 3 riding modes. Touring, Sport and Super Sport, more boost. Removes that slight hesitation just above idle. Very noticeable in Touring mode. If you had a 990, you must know how to ride. Come ride with the fast guys sometime. I mean next year!

Congrats on your Tenere. I just picked mine in the last two weeks. UPS deliveries and the heater in my garage should be working overtime this winter! :D

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

Redcat, I am on Advrider.com under the same alias. I have seen your posts in the Calgary regional forum and read some of your escapades. We even crossed paths (passed each other south of the city) last spring. No doubt we will run into each other next year. Cheers, David

clint64, something tells me I will never be done fooling around with bits and pieces. I will have to keep doing mods to use up all the free time I will have not doing maintenance on the bike.

rem, thanks for the welcome. I spent a couple of weeks riding in the Yukon this summer. If i could figure out how to post photos on this site I would add a few from my photobucket account.

Greg the Pole, what's on tap for Thursday? (wrenching not beer) I might be able to swing by for a meet and greet as I am also in the SW.

RedCat, maybe its just me, but I will hold off on doing the clutch switch mod until I have a few thousand more kms on the bike. I don't know why everyone thinks the Super Tenere is underpowered, and as for skittish throttle response, you don't know what that is until you have ridden a KTM 990!

Cheers, David

David,

If your photos are already in Photobucket, you are one mouse click away from including them in your forum posts.

This is a more detailed thread on the procedure. : http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=9056.0

But you only need the step where you harvest the "IMG" code that Photobucket actually provides to you automatically.

Good luck.

So, let me try with this photo. Two Super Teneres at Bow Lake.

I think my problem was trying to post to the photo gallery, which seems to demand some other procedure. This is what I am familiar with from Advrider.com

Now that I know how to post photos, here is my progression in motorcycles the last three years:

April 2011 - October 2011 - KLR

October 2011 - September 2013 - KTM 990 Adventure

September 2013 - ??? - Super Tenere

Nice job!

By the way, the exact same "IMG" code will work in a post on advrider too.
I personally like the way your pics render in Tapatalk, using this method.

Nice KTM Adventure. I think I actually like that model better than the newer ones.
Just fits the "Dirty Worthy" mould better in my mind. Those Happy Trails?
Awesome bike.

KLR, 990, and a Tenere. All fine weapons for seeing the planet up close.

Welcome. I never met a Canadian I didn't like right away. Maybe some day I'll get up there on my way somewhere. I'm itch'in to take my new S10 on a long, long ride somewhere I've never been before. Just bought some Altrider bars for her, and I'll be getting the rest of the farkles over the winter. Buying a bike in the winter is great for pricing, but not so great for having to wait till the snow stops flying. Happy riding!

Kumakahn, I have done a bit of riding in your neck of the woods and hope to do a bunch more. Between, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and Utah you could spend a lifetime and not cover the same ground twice. Much the same can be said for Western Canada. Only 5 more months to spring!

RidingUpandDown, thanks for the note. I have several different camera/lens combinations that I use depending on the occasion. Mostly though I rely on a Nikon D7000 with 18-200 zoom. It looks after pretty much any situation except super wide angle shots. Plus it fits comfortably in the tank bag so it is ready whenever I want to grab it. Cheers, David
