Lost a couple REAR spokes, and don't want to re-lace the entire wheel to the tune of $100/set. Looking for a couple ST compatriots to go in on a purchase with me.

I'm in SoCal, but am moving to the Washington DC area in a few weeks....we could avoid shipping costs if you're located at either of these destinations or along I-40.

We can split payments through PayPal to ensure everyone's purchases are secured.

FYI, there are three different length spokes in the rear wheel. The 16 inner spokes are all the same, but the outer spokes are two different lengths. On one side the spokes are just a couple of threads shorter.

The outer spokes are close enough in length that they could be interchanged with no problem.

When you break a set up, you need to sell them in groups of 4 spokes, 2 inner and 1 ea. of the outer.

When I was selling them I was selling a group of 8 spokes for $25, which included $5.25 Priority mail shipping.

Awesome! OldRider, I'd heard about the two outer size lengths before; I presume the wheel is offset from center a bit?

Anyways, between the four of us (tuonodave, VigilanteTrail, WJBertrand, and me), we have enough to follow OldRider's recommendations, should you guys be cool with $25 each. Since the bike is a 32-spoke rear wheel, everyone would get 4 inner spokes, and 2 of each length outer spokes (8 in total).

Let me know what you guys think!

Geez, guys, in the scheme of things this seems like a lot of effort to save a small amount of cash vs. everything else I'm sure you've spent on your Tenere. Some former KLR owners in there by chance? When I bought my 2013 ST 2 1/2 years ago I saw the loose spoke threads and ponied up for a full set of front and rear spokes for about $140. I have never used a single one. PM me and I'll mail spokes out at my expense on a first come, first served basis. Minor gesture to give back to this great forum that I have benefited from so much. I'll keep a few for my own reserve but will gladly donate the rest to you cheapskates!

If you PM me please be specific about which spokes you want and I'll let you know if I can accommodate or not. Obviously also include a mailing address.

arjayes, I'll gladly take you up on your offer! I'm in North SD county, so perhaps I can simply pick them up in person and thank you face to face. I can also pay you for them, whether that payment is in beer, high fives, a full tank of 91 octane, etc.

PM inbound

I could go either way, but I don't want to renege on my commitment for the group buy.
