Shout out to the guy on the grey S10 with panniers waiting for the lights to change a few days ago. I came up adjacent to you and a bike length behind in traffic, and was so excited to see another S10 I sat on the horn trying to get your attention, In the end flipped my visor and shouted and that got you to turn your head you must have thought I was a madman! First other S10 I’ve seen in London whilst riding mine. I had just pulled it out of storage that morning as I was missing it too much and put it back into storage that evening.

I never see them around here either. And before the Member Map shit itself (hint, hint) I could see that there were a bunch around here. But apparently, they don't ride them very often.

I see them all the time while riding around Colorado and the surrounding States..................They must all be coming out west.

What exactly does one take part in at a "Gyratory"?

Twintens, you are riding the most exclusive Adventure bike in the World and possibly one of the very best Adventure bikes in the World, you are entitled to go a little crazy when you see another motorcyclist with the similar excellent taste in bikes as yourself!
Fantastic comment! and so true, every time I get on mine (not often enough) I always feel special. Farkled almost to the limit (is there such a thing?) I just love riding it even just around town. Plenty of other road users always commenting on it. Longer trips coming up in Spring and cant wait.

This one is a little famous, think of it as a very large roundabout that you have to get around at some speed, speed limits are out the window, the sheer inertia of the traffic sets the tone across all the (6) entry and exits. Add to that the fact that London drivers just love to leave the lights at hyperspeed and you have an interesting traffic flow around the “GYRATORY” even on my S10 I get around it very smartly to stay intact!

It’s interesting, I keep mine in a heated and locked facility in London (it can’t be parked where I live) and there are two others in there in the bubbles but I’ve never seen them move.

Where abouts is it stored?
I keep mine at Car Vault in Shoreditch for the same reason.

Just out of interest, members who live in London, what are you paying for insurance ?. Mine is kept off road but not garaged, 10yrs NCB, Value £7000. Carole Nash renewal £900 fully comp. I think this is robbery. The S10 is not a bike that gets stolen, riders tend to be mature. My belief is i am not insuring myself to ride my bike. I am subsidising other people.

During my years in London I lived nearby the " roundabout"...
As part of my maintenance job I had to drive all around England on my Ford van...
That giant roundabout did scare the hell out of me the very first times I had to take it ( basically twice per day)...
Almost 15 years later I am glad to find out even the " locals" find it scary lol

So, y'all do that over there too? Not so much my auto insurance, but my flood insurance for sure. It's even listed on the premium. Almost 30% of the total.

Judging by the new member introductions some while back most of the Tenere’s were sold in Texas ;). Everyone owns a gun, jeep and SuperTenere. The magic three.

Back on track: they are rare over here too. Only seen a few on the road.

It wont be long before you simply cant get insured for flood damage.

I’m quite shocked at that insurance cost. That’s roughly double what I pay for my bike, car and wife car combined. Seems excessive loading even for London.

If it's anything like over here, the larger the city, the larger the premium. Then throw in covid inflation. The exception to that rule is the town that I complain about driving in so much that has a population of about 35k. It's rated as #2/#3 in the state for crashes.

I'm excited to learn a new word - gyratory. I was thinking it might be where you park a helicopter or perhaps a form of disco or night club.

I'm going to start using this word in when I talk about roundabouts but also for other less semantically correct thing is the world. It's giving me an unreasonable amount of glee.

I substituted a 4Runner for the Jeep to complete my trifecta.

Wow, and we have a lot of towns in Texas.
