Greetings forum members. I just joined your forum and am excited to be the new owner of a 2015 ST ES that I located new at a dealership in Madison WI. I am coming off a Goldwing so this is quite an adjustment! I started looking for something lighter than the wing after having both hips replaced two years ago. Although I liked the wing and rode it all over the country, It was just too big and heavy at slow speeds. I did a lot of reading and test rode a Tenere several months ago....I was hooked. I have only a few hundred miles on the new bike (I would have more but the weather here has been all rain) and I like it more each mile.

I am in Central Illinois and am retired from a Law Enforcement career. For the past 15 years as a retirement job I have plowed snow in the winter for IDOT, but now I think when the cold weather starts, I'll just start riding this Super Tenere South!

I have numerous questions that I will ask once I figure out this forum. Until then, be safe.

Welcome aboard from another happily retired law enforcement officer. I left the wintry wastelands of Pennsylvania so I could live in a state where snow is considered a novelty. I left a Harley Road King behind for the world of adventure touring bikes (I had a stopover with a V-Strom), and I couldn't be happier with the Super Tenere. It's my personal favorite of all the bikes I've owned.
