Hello Sports Fans! Yamadog here, checking in from Alabama. I will most likely just lurk the forums for a while as my main reason for joining is to learn what I need to get up to speed on the S10. I am test-riding one later today but I suspect it will be like the single file mule ride in the Grand Canyon...no individual initiative allowed ::) I have used this handle on numerous forums since my beloved 2001 FZ1. If I buy the S10 I will be asking it to be a platform that my wife will find confidence-inspiring and comfortable for 400 mile days in the mountains. Any off road adventures will be strictly 1 up riding. I currently own a Kawasaki Versys that I liked much better when it had 2 other stablemates (VT1100 Superhawk & K1200LT). I dont forsee using the S10 for anything more severe than say, the dirt roads in Monument Valley and the like. No superslab and lots of tertiary roads are my briar-patch.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your search. Sounds like the S10 will fit your needs very well.

Welcome on, Yamadog. So, what's the verdict? How did that test ride go? Did you return the bike, or just take it on home ??

Welcome from a fellow Versys rider. I liked mine a lot too, but the ST is so much better 95% of the time (the Versys is still king on the narrow paved country roads). Let us know of your riding impressions.

Greetings from Texas! Welcome to the madness. I came to the S10 from a Versys, before than a Honda Shadow 1100. Each have their virtures, but none compare to the Tenere IMHO.
