Hello all, new guy here from central VA just south of Richmond. Saw the Tenere at the DC bike show last weekend and love it just what I have been waiting for. Look forward to learning a lot more about this bike. I hoping to trade in my 07 Zuki M109 for a Tenere BTW. Thanks, Vince

Hey Vince, welcome! The Tenere seems to have a bit of magic, I know the first time I read about it I knew i was worth getting excited over.

Anything else cool at the DC show? I've never been to that one, is it worth a visit?

Thanks for the welcome, the DC show wasn't bad I was surprised that BMW wasn't there I was hoping to take a look at the new K1600 models. Jason Britten was there from Speed Channel fame put on a nice trick riding show. All other brands were well represented good fun all around. I did learn about a helmet that I would love to own someday the Schuberth C3 wow what a awesome helmet. Never heard of them until last Sat at the show but they are big in Europe I'm guessing. They are a German company and make helmets for F1 racing, military and a lot more. You have to see them in person and hear the demo very impressive. About $700.00

Thank you sir for the welcome, I'm thinking long and hard about it believe me. I'm calling dealers now seeing who wants to take my Zuki as a trade in. Are aftermarket companies putting out accessories already since Europe has had this bike for awhile? Just wondering if there are options other then Yammi and their prices?

Hello and welcome to the group. S10 and ST both are shortened versions of Super Tenere. Does kind of remind me of the little Chevy truck, or the Honda ST but writing out Super Tenere all the time gets old. I am kind of partial to XT12, no confusion there but still short.

OK that makes sense, XT12 does have a nice ring to it that's the overseas version isn't it?

XT1200Z is Yamaha's product name along with Super Tenere. So all are known as XT1200Z Super Tenere.
Like the V-Strom DL-650, some call it a Strom, Weestrom or DL.
