Went for a great ride today with my KLR riding buddy. We were looking for something different from what we've done before, so we decided to just head toward the hills from Molalla and see where we ended up. After a couple dead ends, we ended up in the Molalla River Rec area. For such a beautiful area, it sure was lightly used today. So many great fishing spots, I'll have to see if the Molalla is any good for fishing and come back someday soon. Anyway, from there we headed East, sticking to the main gravel road that paralleled the Molalla river, and exploring a few side roads along the way. We ended up on FR 7010 somehow, and after navigating and dragging my beast of a bike (after watching my buddy on his KLR basically fly through) over a slip in the road, very similar to 4610's but not quite as dramatic, we eventually ended up on the road to Bagby Hot Springs, 63 I think. All in all a great day of riding, exploring and not really caring where we were going, but having it end up being a really nice ride. Anyone with some K60s (or better) and a skid plate (a must for the slip, trust me) would have no problem on this road. Lots of places to camp and scenic views along the river. We will be back up there as there were just too many side roads that looked like they might go somewhere interesting that we had to pass up, plus the Table Mtn area is up there and there's a lookout that I want to see if we can find. So much riding to do, so little time. Here's a link to the GPS track file https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/181845/2014-07-04%2C%20041538P.gpx for anyone interested.

Some additional pics my buddy took of me dragging my bike through the slip:

After making sure that expensive AltRider skid plate did it's job, it was time to pick a line and ride out:

And a nice break to contemplate chucking my GPS into the forest (I've had it with this stupid thing, my phone is about to become my GPS I think):
