I have a Madstat with the cross bar, my old ass eyes makes me want to put a long arm on it and extend it out. Works but during major ST action it will bounce or vibrate. I now mount my iPhone there and keep it tighter up to the cross bar. If you can see ok you wont have my problems.

Or you can make your own. This was when I first made it for a regular car Nuvi that was held in place with velcro:

Mine is from Kydex ABS, bent with a little heat around the edge of a piece of wood in a Z-shape. Remove the windshield, then the panel with the tuning forks and there are 2 or 3 sheet metal type screws holding the instrument cluster in place. Use a dremel to make holes in the Kydex for the screws, electric connector etc. For re-assembly it gets sandwiched by the instrument cluster.

It's been through 3 different GPS's so is starting to look a bit like swiss cheese from the holes. One of these Garmin powered "Rugged Mounts" for the Montana is currently screwed to the Kydex. You can find them for $27 online:

Because my gloved fingers are too fat to use the screen, I have a stylus from the dollar store that I hot glued velcro onto. It is normally riding on the velcro seen to the right of the GPS in this photo.

why the bigger screen? are you tall (er) ? I stayed stock and added the adjustable bracket, might wanna call dude,he is way friendly and wont sell you something that wont work. I bought a cee-bailey screen and it did not work, hated it. Talked to dude and went back to stock with the bracket. He even offered me a discount on a future screen he sells if I needed it. And he said try it for a month, if you dont like it full refund.

Not sure what you are wanting (other than a GPS mount) but it may be worth a look, IMO.

good luck, ST on!!!!

good question patrick. I had a givi windsheild on my vstrom 650 and it reduced the wind noise to almost nothing. I had the madstad on there as well, but never adjusted it. seeing the madstad for the s10 that has a cross bar for gps mount i'm liking that.

the OEM side deflectors are the bomb, I would try that if air flow is a issue. Might be able to stay with you stock screen (if you height is not too tall).
