So I went to the YAM website to surf and they had a pop-up survey on the site asking if I found what I was looking for and how they might improve the site. I recommended they create a portal for PDP customers. The idea would be for them to send PDP people a thank you letter (or email) acknowledging your order, providing an order/tracking/unit number, and a website address that you could log into and track your unit. If the portal is not that intelligent/interactive, a broadcast system could be used instead.
This is not that bad an idea, IMHO. Seems better than the 2-3 letters that we have been snail-mailed over the months. I ONCE ordered a BMW car and I was able to "track" it from shortly after I ordered until it was loaded on a cargo ship for the US. Too bad is wasn't worth the wait............... ;)

My wife said basically the same thing last night. Given that she is never wrong, I think this is case closed.

I'm glad we were able to resolve the situation so quickly. R

Nice pic, Rod. I only have one thing to say .... EWWWWWWWWWWW !!!!!!!

I'm gonna go by my local friendly Yamaha dealer today and see if there is any news. I stop by about twice a week now, so you can imagine that their motivation is high to get the bikes here. I enjoy watching them run for cover when I walk in. Great fun. R

Most of our dealers are closed on Mondays (plus this is a holiday here). Is your closest dealer(s) in Whitehorse?

Only one dealer in the entire Territory. Just down the highway from me, just before the south access down into Whitehorse. Very handy. The entire population of the Yukon is about 35,000 on a good day. Whitehorse is maybe 30, give or take. Not a lot of folks up here, which is a lot of the attraction for me.

I have never bought Yamaha products before, but this dealership has a good rep, and the Sales Manager is the son of a very good friend. He looks after me pretty well. He even laughs at my jokes ..... while I'm there. R

Must be "Yukon Yamaha"

http://www.yukonyamaha.com/

Did you purchase your ST1300 from Yukon Honda?

It's pretty easy to figure out which dealer carries which brand........... ;)

Yeah, no kidding. Yukon Yamaha and Yukon Honda. Lister's does Kawa and Suzuki, however. Some imagination there.

Yes, all 4 Honda bikes, plus current CR-V, were purchased there. The owner/manager is a really good guy and treats me very well. I like dealing with him, and I have always liked Honda products.

I think that the Yamaha dealer will be very similar. As I have mentioned before, the motorcycle mechanic was the first one on the list for a PDP Tenere. That's gotta be a good thing. He got to go down and play with one way back, and immediately put a deposit down when he got back. R

I haven't seen any evidence of an Islander, but doesn't mean there aren't one or two. That would be an awesome place for a Tenere. I have plans (oh yes, the plans .....) to take the ferry over to the Queen Charlotte's and ride there. That would be a famtastic trip. I'm gonna do it. Ride down to Rupert, which would be a magnificent ride itself, and ferry from there. R
