Gold Belt Byway Ride - 20 Sept 2014

We'll meet 0900 at the Safeway in Old Colorado City (3275 W Colorado Ave, Colorado Springs), ride to Canon City via Shelf Road, lunch in Canon City (El Caporal or Chicago Bob's BBQ; if Chicago Bob's, will take our lunch to one of the parks to eat it), then head east on route 50 for a few miles before heading north on Phantom Canyon Road. I should have added that this is not a challenging, technical ride. Good quality dirt, some loose stuff and gravel, a couple places where there are some rocks buried in the road. Have done this numerous times on the V-Strom and have seen an FJR, a serious sport bike and BMW GS on this route.
