I've been doing my research on windscreens and I'd like to know if anyone can tell me the difference between a Givi and Parabellum windscreen. They look very similar in design yet there's a big difference in price. I want to get this done before the cold weather arrives. I've read good things about the Parabellum and I have a Givi on my Wee. This bike is a different set up from my Strom so any personal experience would be appreciated. I have put on the OEM deflectors, which have helped. I get a bit of buffeting but its the noise that's really fatiguing. I do wear ear plugs. I'm 5'10" and have a Madstad on order. I don't think the stocker is wide enough for my needs.

i use the Parabellum tall screen on mine and it offers really good wind protection. Also dropped the noise level considerably. I am one of those that likes the barn door windshields. ::022:: ::26::

I've not ridden with the Givi on the Tenere...

I'm 6' with 32" inseam and the medium Parabellum has been great. I had a barn door windshield that was as high as my mouth and the coverage was great, but it was something I always had to get around when off-road, in the shop, when moving the bike, etc. Great winter shield, but I wasn't unhappy when it was hit by road debris and cracked.

Since then I have been using a medium Parabellum and initially thought it would be too low. It's been a fantastic height and the extra width is significant in making the pocket nice behind it. The air break is across my helmet chin guard on the highway, so you may even be able to run with your visor up.

I figure if I use a Madstad adjuster I have the options of raising, lowering or adjusting the wind screen angle for optimal conditions. The Parabellum just looks very similar to the Givi and for the price I want to make sure there's a difference in size or quality.

I have been looking for a shield for over a year, checked the forums and talked to lots of riders.

I started with the stock shield and then went with a 'barn door'..... Riding in the Idaho heat in August proved the barn door doesn't work.

After some more interweb surfing and this youtube video: http://youtu.be/yrOeNy12zmU stock and AF447 noise comparison.
I decided The Givi Airflow was the way to go: AF447
Specific sliding wind-screen, transparent, complete with fitting kit. Maximum height 24 inches (4.7 inches of extension), width 16.9 inches,

The AF447 works for me.....

I ran the Parrabellum and it does a good job stopping wind and noise. It's too good in fact . I found it unbearable to ride behind in the summer. I now ride with the stock screen and the Madstad bracket and it fills the bill for summer riding. I'll see if it's tolerable for winter driving.
