Givi Trekker Spotlights stopped working yesterday.

Today I traced the fault...the fuse....but it hadn't blown...it had melted!!!!

I have now replaced the fuse holder and the fuse!

BUT

Any idea what could cause a fuse to melt before it blew

Many thanks

Mike

I've seen it happen where there has been a build up of resistance rather than a dead short, they can be difficult to trace though.

Agree with yoyo. Cleanup all connections and check the wiring for heat stress.

The fuse holder was damaged on one side only but I've now replaced that (and the fuse, obviously)

No other sign of damage to any wires so I hope I've solved it.

I did have an issue with a relaya few months age in the GiVI Spots circuit with a relay being live 24/7 that was draining the battery. Could this have caused the start of the problem?
