Thanks, Kathrerine! I look forward to your pics and thoughts/opinion of them.elizilla said:Well, I have ordered the Givi rack, because I already have the cases and I wanted the symmetrical rack, and because it looked like the nice solid tubular rack I had on my V-Strom. It's not here yet, but when it arrives and I get it installed, I'll post pictures.
So, how does the rear crossbrace attach? Is it just connected to each side or does it mount to the rear fender?ptfjjj said:I have Givi racks and like them fine. For now I have a set of Givi E21's on because I really don't need big bags right now, but I wanted the option of swapping back and forth between them and bigger bags when needed. The first time I anticipate the need for bigger bags, I can just get a set of Trekkers and use the same racks. I have pictures in my album here:

BTW, the E21's only cost $170 for the pair, and they are great bags for in and around town use.
The rack is designed to be quickly removable for when you want to ride without the rack. It uses twist snap connectors that are installed and removed with a special allen type wrench. There are connectors at each handrail bolt, another on each side down at the pillion peg and then the final one attaches to the cross bar which attaches to each side. It runs just inside the fender. The whole setup feels solid to me, and it truly is quickly removable.Kidder said:So, how does the rear crossbrace attach? Is it just connected to each side or does it mount to the rear fender?
I have E21s and E360s. I use the E21s a lot for 3-4 day trips.
Same situation for my wife, she has a full set of Trekkers and the Givi side racks are ordered and should be here tomorrow. We've had the tubular racks on several bikes, including my Vstrom, so there won't be any surprises.elizilla said:Well, I have ordered the Givi rack, because I already have the cases and I wanted the symmetrical rack, and because it looked like the nice solid tubular rack I had on my V-Strom.
