I thought I would share my latest addition - the Givi S250 Toolbox with my own mounting bracket. The mounting bracket Givi sells would have been ok for me except I need to completely remove the toolbox to be able to take my electric pump out of it, the pannier frames wont allow me to remove it when the toolbox is in place:

Looks good. I am going to guess that you made the Aluminum Plate that is attached to the luggage rack. If so, good for you. Very nice.

Since you are very handy and creative... look at the space under your rear rack and see what you could design that would hold... whatever needs to be quickly accessed.

I have the Altrider Rear Rack and the Raised Bracket with a Storm Industries bag installed. This space holds a Tire Pump, Tire Repair Tools and Accessories, and a bit of space remaining for whatever you need accessible that will fit.

I have seen the space under the type of rear rack you have and wondered why someone has not found a use for that space.

Thanks, the plate is made out of 16SWG brushed stainless steel, I might paint it black.
The Givi rear rack is currently mounted using brackets that occupy a substantial part of the space you mention.
These brackets could be replaced with new metalwork that gives a small (lockable) compartment maybe.
I shall look into it.

Has anyone come up with a creative way to mount the Givi S250 to the standard OEM pannier mounts, such that it works both with the panniers and stand-alone?

I think I'm going to be able to store both my air compressor (should receive in a couple of days) and tire plug kit under the seat, so would use this box for rain gear, a few extra tools and a place to store my GPS and radar detector.

Thx

Supposedly Givi sells a bike specific mount for the Super Tenere that uses the Engine tip over guard mounts to mount it low and assumingly somewhat protected. It works with their guards as well. Mounts on either side. I found one picture of it, but can't find it again, nor anyone that stocks it.

Thanks. I saw the post you referred to. I'm looking for something to mount it along the right rear, inside of the OEM panniers similar to the DS Raid box. Something I can also keep in place when not using the panniers to keep a few items in.

These are about 1/2 the price of the DS Raids and I like them being plastic instead of aluminum.

Thanks!

Thanks. I went ahead and ordered the Givi box and think I'll fab some aluminum brackets to tie it to the pannier mounts.

You're welcome. But actually I was doing this more for me. I like the location of this toolbox mount that Givi is developing. I don't go off road much at all, and I carry a small fuel bottle in a nice bracket where you want your tool kit. I was just getting frustrated because I could not find it online anywhere after having seen it once, and no body carried it, or knew anything about it. Now I see that it is still "in manufacturing".

Just curious if you mounted the S250 yet. If so, would you mind sharing some pictures. I would like to do the same thing.

Also, Is it water tight? I can’t tell from the pictures I find online if there is a seal inside the door area.

Not yet. Took me nearly 2 months to get the box as they were on back order, then got tied up on some other projects. Will try to do it before spring. If you come up with any good ideas, please post them.

They say it is "weather resistant". If I get a chance, I'll go get it and check for a seal. If I recall correctly, it does have an o-ring type seal in the lid, but I'll confirm.
