Hi all, I wanted some Givi 33 Trekker cases for the side of the bike to match the top box, but upon offering the brackets, I was stopped at the first hurdle in that I can't even get the bracket to mount on the fixing points, any ideas?

You either need the Yamaha grab handles (expensive) or the spacers they sell when the grab handles aren't there (not expensive). In this picture of mine you can see how the grab handles take up the gap you have. Lots of washers would do the same I suppose.temp.JPG

Thanks everyone, but I HAVE the grab rails, I just took them off to show you, and the kit did come with the spacers.
Yhe problem is that the holes don't line up. The hole at the rear top (rear of the grab rail) and the one by the footpeg line up, but the one at the front of the grab rail is about 1cm south of where it wants to be.
The photo doesn't show that clearly as I was holding it with one hand and photo with other.
Incidentally, I bought it from Sportsbike shop, and they seem to show the quick release version as well as the regular version, both under the title of PL2119 whereas the one you have yen-powell, is the PLR2119 which is the quick release one, I think, if not it looks like the quick release one with those bolts with the triangular fixing holes in them.
However, this is rather strange, now that I go back and look at Sportsbike shop picture, it only shows a third design with bits of FLAT metal welded to the brackets as opposed to the type you have yen-powell, and not the one in the fitting instructions that you posted bimota which is the type that they sent to me.
To confuse matters more, the ones now showing in the Sportsbike shop advert have two types shown, the first picture, the ones with bits of right angle metal where the grab rail bolts go (and incidentally with the triangular-holed bolts) and the second shows the type they sent me without the right angled metal bits!!!!

Do not know about SWmotech..Sorry. I just returned a set of Givi Pl2119CAM mounts that were nowhere near fitting. Right (brake) side fit perfect. Left side sat on muffler and rear mount was at least 1.5 inch away from bike. First time ever Givi did not work. Currently have Givi rear rack and big outback box. Many other past bikes and Givi racks with no problem. Weird. Also thinking about SW Motech. Just finished grinding mount bracket on Hepco Becker skid plate so header does not contact. Miss the old days when everything fit without issue - All the way back to Vetter.

My Gen 2 bike didn’t have grab handles or spacers, so I bought 20 x 2mm thick stainless steel washers from eBay with the intention of getting the correct spacers but the washers are still there 3 years later.

Hi all, I think I've seen the error of my ways.
I couldn't believe that Givi having made thousands of these racks would have got it wrong.
It isn't very clear in the instructions, but it appears that the bolt down by the footpeg doesn't go into the spare hole towards the back of the bike immediately behind the footpeg itself (which I thought it did) but the actual footpeg after you supplant the existing bolt with a longer one plus spacer included in the kit.
I offered the pannier rack up this evening with the footpeg hole behind the footpeg, and the top two holes seemed to line up a lot better.
My bad.

Having just ordered the same kit, this is good to know.

i bought these online from the states...they're in transit. they were listed on vendor website as fitment for s10, but on givi website that part code is showing its for a cbx500. they should be here in the next week or so, i will report back. mark

This has defeated me today.
I’ve got nothing small enough to get the bolt behind the foot peg out.

Wonder they didn’t use the easy accessible hole already in the hanger!

Thanks
It’s the short Allen I didn’t have…
Found it now but it’s horribly grey here so will leave for another day

I took the whole hanger off in the end.
The bolt was completely rusted in. It took a vice, heat and a hammer to shift it.
The other side went on in 5 mins

The only point of contact is the rubber bung but I guess it’s designed that way?
