Givi crash bars engine bracket bolts

I've just installed the Givi crash bars without any major issues. I've noticed that the included instructions don't list torque specs for the engine bracket bolts, or anything else for that matter. Factory service manual calls for 54 ft/lbs. The bolts supplied by Givi look/feel cheap and I'm not confident they could take that much torque. I would like to know from people who have done this mod how much have they tighten those bolts to. I've temporarily set them to 45 ft/lbs and seem plenty tight. Anyone see that being a problem? Should I just find some high quality/stainless steel bolts to replace them with?
Also, regarding the OEM tip over protectors bolts, I wasn't able to find any torque specs in the service manual at all. Anyone know what those figures are?

Any insight is much appreciated. Thank you.

I also set mine to 45 ft lbs and I think that is tight enough. I also noticed that the bolt seemed a little under sized for the metric socket I had, so I used an English socket when tightening them. I think Giving should have used a better quality bolt.

hi - bit of a thread resurrection - but how did the 45lbs work out? did you re-tighten or have any issues?

also - did you use any thread lock or put those bolts in 'dry'?

got a set to fit and the centre brackets are worrying me slightly.

thanks,

graham

Stick to the factory torque spec as its there to protect the threads in the motor. I wouldn't personally worry about locktite in this application

I'm running Karson's pre-owned Givi crash bars that were torqued to factory specs.....no loctite and no issues a year later. (And no crashes or tip overs) ::015::

I checked the two bolts over the weekend and they got loose somewhat. I did re-tighten them to 45 lbs. Didn't use thread lock when I installed them. Thanks for reminding me.
