Bought my 2012 on 7/31/2011. Had a lot of money in suspension, upgrades, and add-on's. Enjoyed the majority of the 52,200 miles. The engine was rebuilt due to a CCT failure and it ran excellent afterwards. Still traded it in on a 2015 ES and so far, 1869 miles, I am not disappointed.
The suspension is the big difference.
3 preload settings: One up, Two up, and Luggage
3 dampening settings: Hard, Std, Soft
7 dampening level settings: +3, +2, +1, 0, -1, -2, -3
The stock adjustable windshield is not great though alright for warm weather.
The all digital dash will be better when I discover how to do all the functions. Recently saw the brightness can be controlled. Would prefer some color.
Cruise control is very nice... Heated grips are good to have but has three fixed heat settings... Gas gauge seems to be alright and better than the previous... 4-Way flashers should be a safety standard... Different sidestand that is close to too tall and will be with a BigFoot mounted... LED turn signals / indicators can be seen easier... Very little storage room under the seat... Flash To Pass yes I use this... The Start button is also the Kill Switch... Handlebar position is still too low and too far away.
Like the electronic suspension a lot. Only concern is how many miles and days before there are problems and who can repair the suspension?
Until then I will enjoy every comfortable smooth tracking easy handling mile.
