Has anyone with a First Gen S10 installed the 2014's redesigned upper triple clamp and handlebar? The ergonomics felt much better to me than my '11 and the rubber damped aluminum bars are nice....

After owning both a 2013 and 2014 I'd like to do the opposite and go back to the 2013 set-up. The bars moving a bit on the rubber dampers kind of gives me the heebie-ba-jeebies. Plus for now no one make a 1" block riser for the 2014.

Do they really need risers? They felt great to me as is and I have the Rox 2" risers on mine...

I have no idea about the math but a 1" block riser on the 2013 felt more comfortable than the stock rise on 2014. I owned both bike at the same time and rode them back-to-back several times.

I did put the 2" Rox on my 2014 but that felt like a bit too much and took them off.

My issue isnt height but the bars being too forward. I would like them to be about an inch closer to me but not sure how this can be done without risers or new bars... Any suggestions?

Howdy,
Take a look at the Rox Off Set Riser. It moves the bars back as well as up. Made a world of difference for me, pushed me back enough that I could finally reach my Sargent Seat's sweet spot which changed that relationship from hate to love. Used all stock cables, did do some fiddling to get it to work and may still do the brake line extensions this winter.
