Very cool. Creature comforts for the long haul. That shroud you built over the Zumo is a good idea, I often get glare off my Nuvi that makes it hard to read.

How is you garmin working? Are you getting any interference from the Sat antenna? I was looking to do something similar with my 665 but Garmin recommends to keep the XM Sat Antenna away from the unit atleast 10". So I mounted the 665 up on the dash and I am planning to mount the antenna on the bars.

There's a problem with your sig. I very much approve of the KLX250, but I think the Tiger needs replaced by the S10, or maybe just go with 3 bikes? :D

I was aware of the 10' distance recommendation but was encouraged by other reports by users that I thought indicated that the proximity was not an issue. However I got out yesterday for the first time and find that I only have 1 of 3 bars on the XM reception. On my previous installation on the Venture I had the antenna on the back trunk of the bike and had better reception. So I would say they is an issue but I haven't had time to figure out the problem yet. I plan to move the antenna around and see if it improves.

Can you provide a link or a longer description? I searched amazon for a "Prius Hood" and came up with hoods for a Pruis as in primed, ready for painting, OEM replacement car hoods.

I have decided to move the XM antenna to the top of the brake reservoir and attached with some Scotch "All Weather Fasteners" My longer range plan is to modify the XM radio mount that I had used on the back of the GPS by putting a 90 degree bend in it and JB weld it to the top of the brake reservoir. I will need to find someone with a press that can bend metal a little more accurately than I can do with my small vise. In this new location I generally get 3 out of 3 bars.

Thanks, that looks close to what I am looking for but it may be too small for the GXM 40 antenna that the Garmin 665 uses.

I decided to get my whole setup out of the way more. I an using the sw-motech gps bracket with my zumo 550. I used the touratech ram adapter plate tweaked in its angle a bit and attached to the GPS mount to mount the antenna between the shield and the fairing in front. The power and antenna cable connect to the zumo base and the GPS unit just pops in and out as needed. I am having no issues with signal reception or strength with it angled and mounted where it is.
