Hey all, first...profuse apologies as this is not an exciting subject and there are a billion discussions about mounting GPS's. Just hoping that someone has the same setup as I do and can give me some advice. I have a new 2014 ES that comes with the mounting bar up behind the windshield. I have an older Garmin Nuvi 260W that still works great and would like to just leave it on the bike as I am not too worried about it. The mounting bar is kind of thin, and not like the cross bar on a BMW GS. Would like to find a locking mount and bracket for the unit but don't want to use a Ram mount as you have to use that stupid extension with the balls and I've already heard that vibration is a problem. Looking to mount the GPS mount as close to the crossbar as possible. Anybody using this GPS or similar setup? I tried to look on Touratech and it seems there are a lot of unit specific stuff on there, but nothing for my unit. The RAM mount GPS holder is great, but not lockable. My real problem is finding something that will mount very securely to that crossbar. Even if I have to use the RAM holder, finding a good attachment is the issue. Sorry if this is confusing. If any one has any good ideas and especially pictures, model numbers, etc. it would be very much appreciated!

Just bought a cheap handle bar mount off of Ebay for $6. It has the Garmin size ball on that the GPS snaps onto. I had to shim the hole slightly but it seems to be solid enough. I would love to get the Tourtech locking mount. But you have to get the top shelf GPSs which is great if money was no object. The locking mount costs more then my GPS did. I have a Nuvi 3490 LM and I have to take my gloves off to work it but it works ok..

I'm interested in this too. I was able to modify an old mount I had but it's not ideal. The problem for me is when I used a mount that was flush with the bar the GPS blocks the turn signal dash lights. I had to raise it up which made the GPS bounce around more.
