Ok so I feel kind of silly asking this but I just noticed that my front turn signals are always illuminated (not blinking, just on) when the bike is powered up, like yellow running lights. They do flash when asked to. Did I not notice this originally or might I have done somthing in the wiring up of my FuzBox

It's normal. They are dual filament running and signal lights.

Yes, but they will burn out if not filled with blinkerfluid from Hortons.

Thank you, I was worried about electrical gremlins. You can see me coming with the amber running lights, headlights, Denali night lights and my Clearwater Krista recognition lights

Gadzooks! Those kristas can sure throw some light. Do you have some pics you can show us on how you mounted both sets of lights? Also, are you running the Denalis with the fog light lenses?

Thanks.

WOW. That's a lot of light. Then again, you can never have too much light at night. The drivers coming the other way may disagree though.

No matter how they are classified, the Kristas are more than just 'recognition lights,' although they fill that roll exceedingly well. The light pattern is pretty much like a serious off-road light....that's probably why clearwater cloaks them as 'recognition' lights implying daytime, road use to broaden their market potential. I'll tell you this much, I'd definitely have them wired to go full high with high beams on, and hook-up the horn sensing switch as well. Need every attention getter I can here in Japan with people pulling into the main roads from the side road and seeing you either at the last minute or when it would be too late, had you not clamped seriously on the binders. ::001::

does not matter how many extra lights you fit what color clothing you wear or how bright or how loud your exhaust is the only person is going to stop you hitting a car that pulls out is YOU ::008::

That's a fact. Seventy percent of all collisions on a bike happen in a cone-shaped area in front of you.

Still, if blowing the horns and/or flashing the lights gets somebody to stop, it is still the rider who's taken action with all means possible to avoid the accident...and you've lessened the risk of that remaining 25-30 percent who rear end you. Most of the intersections in japan are squared off, with bushes, high grass and such blocking the view in rural areas...so you're rolling down a country road at comfortable clip when out from behind the grass pops a tractor coming into the road at a 90deg angle like he owns the place. It's happened, I hit the horn, they stop ::008:: Same with a high vis vest...you invisible to visible in the fog just by wearing it. A car can't avoid what he can't see and defensive driving will only cover so much.

On my bike it is just the front turn lights that do this and not the rear ones. I assume this is how it comes from Yamaha for the USA bikes-? I wish the rear ones would be on as well.

Any running lights facing rearward have to be red. A long time ago, all Yamahas' had red rear turn signal lenses (just like most american cars), while most of the other Japanese bikes had amber.

Thanks very much.
I figured it would be something like that and I have to say it makes sense.

I've also heard that some LEO's will stop you if you have rear-facing amber lights rigged as running lights.

Electrical Gremlins are a serious problem. During my career as an electrician in a factory, I have killed 11 of them............ ::022::

I guess its kinda like red and green running lights on the water, red right and amber front ... etc.
Hey johnnail I spent almost eleven years installing electronics on boats, not so much boat electrical system, so I only got five of those very pesky gremlins, mostly the ones running around one the grounds ... Eleven is great, good for you.

I used to kill'em until I saw this one. I'd swat that, but I wouldn't kill it.
