Has anyone heard a strange buzzing sound when appling the front brake?
Mine has just developed this and I can't tell if it's mechanical (from the pads/rotor/caliper) or electrical (some relay in the right cowl). It stops when the bikes stops and it seems to only manifest it's self after several miles and with the bike fully warmed up.
Damn near sounds like a cicada which we have plenty of around here right now. ???

For piece of mind I would check the fender bolts and calliper bolts.. But more than likely its the surface on the pads 'cutting' the rotor.. normal break in... Mine started doing that after about 40 miles.... After a few "traffic stops" and dumb drivers 150'ish miles its gone...... My experience. You might want to also just look with a flash light that a small rock didnt fall down into the pad loader and might be making the noise against the rotor... Look at the top and bottom. I have seen this several times on customers bikes.............

Mine has made a sound since I first picked it up from the dealer. It is still there, and hasn't gotten louder or quieter.

I'm now at 250 miles. I thought it was brake pad break-in at first, but after the sound not going away, I've accepted the sound as normal. I'm guessing it is part of of the UBS.

Mine has been doing that since I picked it up. 440 miles on it, so far.

Could this be the ABS kicking in? The manual references a buzzing noise, though I thought it was supposed to sound like it was coming from under under the saddle.

I always use earplugs, so don't hear noises, but the unified braking system causes a vibration/pulsing to be felt through the rear brake pedal and this is mentioned as being normal in the Euro manual. Could it be this that you are hearing?

Nope it's the rotor buttons centering. Totally normal and has done it on every Sportbike I have ever owned. ABS will activate the light on the dash and grinding feeling in pedal, already tested mine.

Don't have to brake hard for it to buzz. Normal braking produces it and it slowly dies in amplitude as you come to a stop.

I think it's also a bit of noise from the holes in the rotors as the pads squeeze. All my Yams do it. Unless yours is REALLY loud or something I'd say completely normal.
