Just got letter in the mail today from Yamaha. It was to notify me of my Y.E.S. one year extra warranty. I called My dad who is a Yamaha Warranty Administrator and asked him about it. He looked up my vin# and said yes I have two years of warranty on my bike. I said I did not buy an extended warranty with my bike. He did not know why I received it but it was on my vin in the their computer. ::022:: Yamaha is the Greatest!!! any one else find this nice gift in there mail box? Ride hard or stay home. ::021::

When I bought my 2014ES I was told Yamaha was offering a 2 year warranty.

Does the letter say Y.E.S. (Yamaha Extended Service) agreement or is it a full Yamaha factory warranty? If it is a Y.E.S. plan my dealer mislead me as they are not the same.

I bought 5 years YES and never received a paperwork and it has taken me 3 months to get them to acknowledge they made a mistake.
And still waiting on paperwork.
All leftover 2013 came with 2 year.

That is their standard warranty but they offered a promotion for an extra year although it is not well publicized.

That promotion was only for leftover 2012's and 2013's and ended Sept 30 and also included $1200 in Yamaha accessories. Now having said that there has been a $500 Customer Cash incentive since Aug 1 on 2014's. That normally is subtracted off the bottom line, but I know of one dealer that told his 2014 Standard Super Tenere buyer that this $500 was to be used for Yamaha accessories, so he used that for an extra 1 year warranty plus heated grips. The dealer's cost was less than $500 for those two items, so both seller and customer were happy.

Well I too got this letter on my 2014ES that I bought in May. I'm not at home right now but I believe it is a YES warranty.
I too had not purchased the YES and was thinking about buying some YES. Still haven't decided.

What if you want to buy the 4 year YES plan, do you have to buy it during the first year of regular warranty, or can you wait and buy it before the extended year runs out? I suspect that if the free year is a YES year and you want to buy the 4 year plan, it will have to be purchased before the end of the one year standard warranty. Something you might want to check on.

The normal terms of the YES specific it must be purchased during the 12 month oem warranty period. I would suspect that is still true, but you should verify that with Yamaha. Call customer service and ask - 800-962-7926. I would think that if you got a free year of the YES, you would only have to pay for 36 month YES to get the maximum of 48 months of YES coverage, giving you a total of 5 years of warranty protection.

That is very interesting and a bit puzzling, Brick. I get all the sales bulletin emails from Yamaha and can't find one that would explain your getting an extra 1 year YES when buying a 2014 in May. In any case, good on ya. I bought the extra 4 year YES when I bought my 2014 in July.

Howdy from East TN. I got mine in yesterday's mail and mine is a 2014 purchased 5/30/14. Looks like I got an extra year Y.E.S. for free. Still need to read the fine print, but that is what it looked to me to be based on cursory review. Happy day. Rather Happy Year.

That information is published somewhere in this forum. Same place the information about the $1200 in OEM accessories.

That is correct, Tim, for the leftover 2012's and 2013's. However my dealer can't find out how buyers of 2014's purchased early are getting a free one year YES. I get the bulletins from Yamaha also and can't find any reference to it. It is good that they are doing that, but we wonder if that is what they are doing, are they going to give another free year to those that bought the extra 4 years YES on their 2014's.
