Well I do for one.

I find the whole concept of forums to be the ultimate in communications.

I was out this afternoon working on my 675 when I noticed a rubber tube fitting laying on the gravel .... sh*t what the hell is that ... where's it come from. It took a minute to take the photo another minute to load it up on the Triumph forum and about two minutes to get a response. Turns out it was one of four snorkels on the rear of the headlight unit. I must have inadvertently knocked it off when cleaning the bike. Brilliant. Love em. Need em. Thanks for being there.

Big AGREE! I used think one of the KLR forums was a huge resource but the owner is such a dick it was not worth spending time there. Then I stumbled onto YamahaSuperTenere.com and it is above all the other forums I have ever joined. We rarely hear from Venture but he keeps this forum running smoothly. The moderators do an excellent job keeping the peace. Have you heard of someone being banned? And can't say enough about the members. They are very good sharing, feedback, encouragement, write-ups, ride reports, and responding to PM's. IMO YamahaSuperTenere.com is the best motorcycle forum.

I honestly think some of the reason for this forum being so great is that the bike is so great! Often forum arguments begin through frustration and differing opinions on how to fix a fault on a bike. S10 doesn't have the issues other bikes do, so this is minimised! One of the only times you will see frustration rise is on the hard start threads and the like!

And totally agree with the benefit of forums. I picked up a new (used) car a few years ago, driving home (400km) ha a small issue. This was before smart phones so I rang my wife, she logged on to the forum, asked the question and I had an answer 10 minutes later that I fixed whilst at a dinner break!

Yes, and there's always the joy of which oil is best, crush washers, and seasonal air changes in tires.

And before I started reading forums I didn't know that black bikes were Ghay. Imagine that. Who would have thunk it. :D

But I agree. Forums are good things. ::008::

I think forums improve the overall motorcycle experience for me. I guess I need them.

In addition to getting an answer to whatever question you may have, the social aspect is a huge part of the enjoyment of motorcycling. Due to this forum and the Strom forum I've met and ridden with people from different states and countries. Been provided with housing when 800 miles from home. Had someone give me the inside scoop when planning a trip to Newfoundland, then meet us in Newfoundland to take us around and feed us. Provide local advice when a hurricane was approaching Nova Scotia (wish I'd listened to that one). Go above and beyond showing us around Mount Dessert Island. Strong arm me into leading countless rides with many dozens of people I would never have met otherwise. Following another few dozen people I also never would have met. Keeping in touch with people I once initially met on a forum from which we have both moved on.

I absolutely love walking into a group of people where I don't recognize a single face, but after swapping screen names, being able to talk to them like they are old friends, because they are old friends. I've never personally met tomatocity or snakebitten, but when that finally happens I'll enjoy meeting friends I've know for years.

So yes, I need motorcycle forums.

Hey, if it wasn't for you all, I wouldn't have thought to change the blinker fluid. Strange that the Tenere is the only bike I have ever owned that had that.... ::025::
