I am doing the fork seals and there's a extra plastic washer that I don't see mentioned in the service manual or YouTube video I'm watching. If I leave it in I cannot get the fork seal to seat completely to get the snap ring in. Any ideas? I've been working on this for a few hours now and ready to throw in the towel.

Judging by the colour of your fork seal, your installing SKF seals ? If so, on the two sets I have installed on a couple of Teneres that optional plastic spacer is not used.1FB358EE-A764-48E2-84C9-8920430140C7.jpeg. Just follow seal installation per. the manual and you should be good to go.
Mine were installed 40,000 km ago, and have been working great, no plastic spacer installed :)

The skf seal sprung a huge leak, I went with OEM this round again. The skf leaked in 10k miles :( I'll leave the spacer out and button her back up.

Appreciate the help everyone, got the seal swapped and flushed the fluid on the other fork since the seals only had 10k miles. re-assembled and am awaiting weather when it's above 10 degrees and I can give it a test drive.
