Hey all, I recently road a gs with Fastway foot pegs, that ride convinced me I need to add a pair to the ST, so my question is are all pegs the same mounting? I see a great price difference between Fast way, Pivot Pegz, Sw Motec, and ones like Tusk, what's the difference? I've never had to replace pegs before, I figured they were all the same (yeah some pivot) but other than that do they mount the same? Thnx

I have a set of Fastway F5 pegs that I transplanted to the S10 from my 800 GS. I think most pegs mount the same way; biggest difference will be in any adjustments you can make with respect to peg height or angle. I like the F5s - nice wide platform for extended standing. I had pivot pegz on my KLR and didn't really care for them - I'd rather have the wider platform.

Chris,

Did your Fastway F5 pegs from the GS go on with no modifications? Are they a good fit? I may want to get some but there is no listing for the S10 on any of the Fastway seller's sites. If the ones from your old GS fit I can just order those.

Are the fastway pegs adjustable? Looking for some adjustable pegs and have only found the SW Motech.....quite pricey too

Borghi - yes, the Fastway F5s from my GS went on with no modifications to bike or peg. I had them set in the low position on the GS, and kept them that way on the S10.

Johnny Cinco - I'm not sure that the F5s give quite as much down adjustment as the SW Motech pegs, which seem to have the same platform dimensions. The F5s can be angled somewhat though, which I found to be a nice feature.

As close as you guys are, we should just catch up sometime so you can check the F5s out before spending the cash!

I would very much like to see a set of the SW Motech pegs in person; one thing that concerns me a bit about the F5s is that there are no peg feelers. When I had them on the 800 GS, it was not unusual for me to drag the pegs every now and then. I did the same thing with the S10 a bit over a month ago while riding Deals Gap, and something other than the left peg touched down first... not really sure what it was, but it made me a bit jumpy about pushing too hard - if I remember right, the left stock peg had a good sized feeler on it.

I have the SW Motech and really like them. You can also make them about 5/16in lower by taking the rubber out.
I had a great deal on mine, and have not found them for any less.

No problem! I'm down your way every couple weeks; easy enough to figure something out for the fall!

Jim - where did you find the pegs?

Thanks,

Chris

I had the SW-Motech On-Road / Off-Road on my old DL1000 and now I have them on my S10. I do like these pegs a lot but the main reason is I’m 6’-5 and they can be mounted 15mm lower than the stock peg height. I also like them because they are a little wider and longer than the stock pegs. And yes they are expensive!

I purchased mine from Twisted Throttle. See the following link.
