I'm going out for the day and riding to Point Arena and back on January 4 if anyone wants to ride with, etc.

I plan on clutch out at 6 AM and then riding out to The Zen House Motorcycle Shop for a poke around, lunch and then back.

I'll post a route once I create it. Prolly out past Lake Berryessa to Knoxville Road, etc. out to Point Arena. Return down 1 to Skaggs Springs most likely.

I am ready for a ride to the coast. We can meet at a Chevron along US-50, 65th Street or Harbor Blvd.

Check your PM. Currently I don't have bike to bike communication.

Sorry Don, wife gave me the hall pass for Wednesday only. ::019::

OK, I have created a simple route that runs us out County road 31 from Davis around the west side of Lake Berryessa up on to Berryessa/Knoxville Road to Hwy 175 to 128 to Mountain View Road and in to Point Arena. Just over 200 miles there.

Return runs down 1 to Skaggs Springs east to 128 to Claistoga, up on to Silverado Trail to Sage Canyon to Cappell Valley to Pleasant Valley to 80 to home.

Firing off an email to Zen House to make sure they have the coffee pot going!

Well, what an amazing day!!!!

445 miles total for me. The two fill ups revealed, gauge indicated, 46.8 mpg and 43.3 mpg. This covered everything from crawling over the ice to wearing down pegs and boots from cornering.

Not a lot of pics, camera only came out at Zen House, but let me tell you that Tim and I saw it all, rode it all, and had one for the memories on that ride!! Lowest temp was 34, highest was 65. We had ice, water, sand, gravel, sun, shade, race track conditions, low water crossing the weirs, pot holes, smooth as glass, you name it!!

I wanna do it all over!!!! That was fun!!

Thanks for joining me Tim!!!

Phil summed up the day very well. It could not have been planned better. Even getting off 30 minutes late was a huge plus and let us ride through Davis, Winters, and Putah Creek during daylight. Incredible sunrise! Incredible June Day, yes June Day. The weather was that good. Well maybe the Ice wouldn't be present in June. Beautiful beautiful almost traffic-less roads. Scary scary Ice on the scenic twistie roads. Mr Ice had a friend, Mr Gravel, and I am not sure which was more uncomfortable. No rain but the roads were wet whenever they felt like it. I learned how well the the super Tenere handles in adverse conditions and it was fun ALL the time. I was having fun but Phast Phil was trackin' it most of the day. The best I could say is we were in the same county most of the time.

The Knoxville weirs were a hoot with the eleven small weirs some partially water filled. A few deer and a turkey added to the quick pace over the rough Knoxville road. Morgan Valley Road is one of two race track-like roads we enjoyed. The roads and Super Tenere are much faster than me but Phast Phil was smokin'. Hwy 175 to Hopland was covered in ice, gravel and wet that will keep your attention along with a huge smile. Mountain House Road isn't very long but its beauty is worth every mile. Hwy 128 gets better and more beautiful every time I ride. Mountain View Road was everything and more of what we expected. I will be back. Highway 1 is like a personal roller coaster that parallels the the Pacific Ocean. The Pacific was showing her color today with heavy surf and many visitors. Surf or not the Pacific Ocean is stunning and something everyone should visit at least once. Stewart Point-Skaggs Spring Road is a very active motorcyclists road and Phil and I had to ourselves. Again Phast was long gone leaving traces of boots on the road. The East end of this road was designed by someone that loves motorcycles and riders and gave them two very wide lanes, ups and downs, lefts and rights, super smooth high speed surface, and ten miles of ever lasting smiles. Down 128 to Calistoga for gas and local entertainment, yes she was. The remainder was a fast paced return ride home in the dark with a Sunset to not be forgotten.

Days like today remind me of why I live in California. "June in January" never to be forgotten. Well not until the next Super California Ride on a California Super Tenere.

415 smiles to my now 8,495 miles.

Thanks Phil.

Our apologies for lack of photo's. I took zero photo's. This is the first time I have seen these photo's. Very nice Phil.

Reason for lack of photo's was we rolled out of West Sacramento at a 7am sunrise, stopped for maybe 1.5 hours total, and I pealed off at a dark 7pm. We were both gone from our homes for 13 hours. We used all the light of the day and some of the dark to enjoy a beautiful ride.

I slept two hours the night before and was living on Snicker's bars and Coca Cola which finally kicked in after Calistoga. Beautiful trip.
