I noticed that the UK FJR has a braking system totally opposite in operation to the S10, if you use front you get front only, if you use rear you get a bit of front too, exactly the reverse of the S10.

So I wondered why Yamaha designed and still produce two systems like this? I know bikes are for different markets but even so? is it about weight and balance?

also what do you guys and gals think if you have tried both systems, the S10 to me seems to work very well and its doesn't nose dive at all like some heavy bikes I have had

I don't know of another bike that operates like the S10, no doubt someone will put me right!

cheers mark

I understand why they did it that way.
Adv bike you only want rear sometimes off-road. Sport bike, most braking is front, even with a little rear brake applied.

Yours doesn't nose dive ? Mine nose dives a lot ! Front preload is set at 2 lines.

That's my take on it also. Off-pavement, I'll use rear only most of the time, so I don't want the fronts coming on if I hit the back brakes.

I suppose you mean only showing 2 lines. (a lot of pre-load)
You might try upping the dampening a couple clicks. Starts to make the front a little harsh though, depending on where your at now.
