While at the dealership to pick up an oil filter, sat on a FJ-09, what a beauty... when I put my hands on the handlebar I immediately knew that was it! exactly what I'm looking for.
Same height, 2" less sweep and about 1" shorter on each side.
Bolt on affair, bar ends weight screws right in, everything fits no problem.
Really happy, no more pain in my left wrist...

Nice. I've noticed the wide & high stock bars make lane splitting a little tricky. They seem to be right at the height of most pickup truck and SUV mirrors where as my ST1300's handlebars are lower and narrower and in spite of being a wider bike overall (no panniers yet on the Super-T), it's actually a bit easier to split on it. Have you noticed any loss in maneuverability or slow speed handling? The standard bars sure work nicely there. What about the rear view mirrors? Is the view more blocked by your arms now?

I believe the stock handlebar has been designed so the height is OK when standing up in off road. Not sure this one is high enough, but I may be wrong: I personnaly think the stock one is at the limit: lower would be a problem for me.

I did notice a slight loss in tossing side to side first time out, I brought the fork tubes 10mm up in the triple clamp to offset this, still not same counter steer leverage but minimal loss. I much prefer the in charge position and the better front wheel feel by shifting my body weight fwd a bit. I'm sure I'll feel more confident in the dirt as well, had the feeling that I was along for the ride sometimes...
Had to readjust the mirrors but it still is the same coverage or thereabout.
The switchgear position nubs have been removed.
Standing up is the same reach but leaning a bit more fwd, again better feel of the front end.
FJ-09 Handlebar p/n 2PP-26111-00-00
Cheers

See you have a 2014. Is that an ES or Standard? Wondering if the controls are the same for the ES and Standard.

I have the original 2012 Gen1 handlebars (off the bike). If someone close has the Gen2 handlebars we could compare.

Gen 1 handlebar part number: 23P-26111-00-00
Gen 2 handlebar part number: 2BS-26111-00-00

The FJ-09 bar makes sense to me, but being slightly more narrow, it may take a bit more input to make the big girl turn.

neat! great that they fit straight on.
Steel bars I'm guessing?

I did find a work around the screw in bar end weights.
I bought a drill and tap to match them, and tap the new bars with the thread cutter.
Job done.

Probably different manufacturer for the Gen1 and Gen2 handlebars.

I have noticed the handlebar height and the lane splitting mirrors but... if I had to split lanes that much I would move or retire. Come to think of it I am retired ;)

The Gen 1 bars are steel, while the Gen 2 variety are aluminum. That explains the different part numbers, but the bend appears to be very close just by looking at them.

It is an ES, I think the controls are the same but doesn't matter, if the ES controls fit so does the standard.
They are aluminum.
No change in vibration, vibration? what vibration?
Something else that I just notice, no pain in the butt... really, now that I'm leaned a bit more fwd, it relieves the pressure on the coccyx... sounds like I may be able to go trough a full tank before I stop now... ::012::

So for the dimension you said the widht is 76, 3 cm ( 30 inches) ???? could you give us a more accurate measure of the widht without the bar ends?? That would be the perfect handlebar to me too, but I wonder how it will handle at low speed when you need more leverage...

thanks

Nicolas
