zed, I got carrot to post my bike photo, I knew he could do it.... hope that helps... the lights are inboard on the bars so that a drop will not harm them... so far I have not had to test the bars (alt rider) but others have, they are well made... carrot uses the oem Yamaha bars with some extra upper bar protection added and he has tested his bars numerous times ( his bike likes a good nap ) with no damage to his bike .... the lights on my bike are rigid duallys ( about 7500 lumens total) led...

That's nuts.

If you fitted the lights to see down the road at night, then a slight difference won't affect the performance.

If you fitted the lights to be seen by other road users, then a slight difference won't detrimentally affect the performance.

If you fitted the lights just so that people can look very closely at your bike and say "Ooooh. Nice lights", just park it on a slope and even those people won't notice. But you will be able to see and/or be seen, which surely - surely - was the real purpose in fitting the lights.

ps. Never buy a BMW if asymmetry of lights gets you upset. BMW do that sh*t on purpose.

OX-34 your right, I do very little night time riding, the main intention was to make the bike more conspicuous to other road users, the slight difference in mounting location will not reduce the required effect, so I will probably leave them as they are for now.

Thanks for the photo Mr Hatter and Carrot.

Looks like the AR bars could make a good mount location for my lamps, still not fully decided if I will go for crash bars or not, if I am honest I prefer the look of the bike without but then often think how much they would save the bike in a low speed drop, (I would never plan to take the bike off road).

So if some one could design a discrete side impact airbag system that would be great :) ::022:: :)

side protection of some type protects my wallet as much as the bike... the cool thing about the super ten is they are all the same at the start but look completely different after a few personal farkle choices... carrot and my self ride a lot together, we both have 2012 bikes but our choices make them look almost completely different one from another.... people ask what are you riding then will ask the same to the other.... same bike... then they will take a longer look... simplicity has its own beauty.... my big question is , zed whats it like to ride every day on the wrong side of the road....

Its fine riding on the (correct) left side of the road, it helps that Yamaha build and import a UK market right hand drive S10 specially for us Brits :D

We invented tarmac so we do ride on the proper side of the road....when you guys invent something worthwhile you can have the say on that but until then tarmac is ours (Scots) lol ::008::

Do you know reason why originally folk would ride on left happy to tell ya all joking aside?

If I remember correctly (age not withstanding, I may be wrong) something to do with jousting or swordmanship whilst riding a horse?

Yep it left your sword arm free to bare arms at anyone coming towards you if they became a threat.

So we win on history and the invention so left is right lol

I couldn't tell if that was a tumor, ginger root stuffed with crap, or something an animal crapped out. After figuring out what it actually was, the third choice was closest.

Don't forget battered Mars Bars as a culinary delight ! We stopped off at a cafe in St Andrews one day and were amused to find 'battered steak pie' on the menu; for those times when a pie is simply not fattening enough...
