For my first ride in 2 months plus after my broken ankle, low drag & I hit Golden Gate Canyon, Mammoth Gulch Rd & Rollins Pass. Rollins was still snowed in at Jenny Lake. We also hit some of the 105 trail on the way back. After a while, it was better sitting than standing on the pegs. It's going to take some time to get the muscles built back up. It was really great being back on the bike. I was afraid I would be really rusty, but that was not the case. Can't wait to do more riding.

Good on ya! Always glad to see a rider return to the saddle. Not familiar with the area you describe but assume there must be a bit of elevation if there is still snow. Too bad it takes longer for the full healing to recover from an injury as we age, but for many it just slows us down a bit & does not stop us. Glad you were able to hit the resume button...

I'm a month or so away. I could if I had to, but shouldn't at the moment. Plate is cramping my style

We were pretty close to or at tree line, about 10,000 feet where the snow was. It was even on the se side of the hill. I have a week long ride coming up in 3 weeks & wanted to make sure I was still going to be able to do it. I would have ridden earlier if the boot was on my right foot. That immobilizer boot was to big to fit under the shifter, I tried.... Yes, we do take longer to heal, the older we get. It sure did feel good to get back on the bike ::015::. No more making funny sounds sitting in the garage ::26:: & doing ::001:: ::003::

1sand0s With the hardware you now have, you should heal quicker than me. I went the all natural route. I did just get some new boots today, the same ones as Bushy, the Sidi Crossfire 2 SRS. I wanted to get some miles in them before my up coming trip. They are much much better than my 8 yr old Sidi Canyons.

Connective tissue and surgery trauma is all I'm dealing with, my break is screwed together as tight as a drum on a non load bearing fibula.

No insurance? I knew a guy who refused to have surgery for a tib/fib fx and took a long time to mend together and then limped the rest of his life. Also knew a young (32) women who died of cancer because she didn't like needles. She waited so long to go to the doctor when she finally went it was to late to help her. Sad

Cancer Treatment killed my Bro in Law, it goes both ways unfortunately.

Not to mention that 180k people are killed each year from preventable medical mistakes. Think about that for a minute, that is two airliners going down each day!

Not saying all medicine is bad, just saying to be well educated regarding your condition and physician (if possible)

Man I hope you're right, it's hard to even go get my own beer lol!

I have 8 screws on the fib and 2 on the tib + the dislocation. All at 5mph...

Anyways, glad to hear your up and riding. Is you're upcoming trip the COBDR? ::008::

Should be interesting being as I only have 3-4 hrs of riding time in so far after being off for 10 weeks. You'll be missed. You ought to teach your dog to get the beer ::003::

Fortunately, both my pants fit over the Crossfires. And if they didn't fit over the boot, I'd had just bought another pair of pants that did fit. After seeing what happened to you guys, I'm not compromising on safety…. Not saying the Adventure goretex aren't safe, just that I'm went for the maximum, which I believe paid off to some extent a couple weekends ago...
