I am looking at the First Gear Katmandu jacket/Pants. Does anyone on here wear this one and if so how do you like it?
I am reviewing the 2012 model and there has been some upgrades and good changes. Int he PNW this style of gear is very good.
I cant pay 7-800.00 for a Klim or My wife will shoot Me.
The pants look good too.

I have the Kilamanjero Jacket which is basically the same jacket less the water bottle. Great stuff and warm too if thats what you're looking for. Waterproof too. I would like top pockets though. Only thing I can complain about. Good quality gear. Can't underatand pricing on Klim ,BMW etc. Hell, I got my Kilamanjero for $199. ::001::

Jett,

I have the jacket, 2010 model, and the Firstgear HT Overpants. I wear ATGATT and Love this kit; fit and finish/form and function. I live in New England and ride in some chilly(34 degree) as well as hot(100 degree) temps. Have been on some long rides 2-3000 mile/week-long from MA to FL, and back, on/off road, in All kinds of wx and the stuff is waterproof and flexible, w/ vents and liners(easily adjustable) and armor. I prefer a jacket/pant like these that is itself waterproof vs. a separate waterproof liner. Pants are easy on/off; full side zips. My son has the kit as well and took a very nasty spill(luckily no injury) last yr and I'd have to say w/o the jacket/pants-armor it would have been a very different outcome!

I don't actually use the integrated hydration pack, took it off as I'd rather stop for drink breaks.

Also these have a 2-year warranty. I'm on my 3rd pair of pants for zipper issues(side and front zips came apart at the bottom-stop joint, replaced w/o question.

So for weather and road protection i.e. function/flexibility/protection, some kind of gear, this or other, ATGATT is highly recommended.

I started out as a First Gear loyalist; Jacket has lasted two years without issue(s); Can't stand the pants. Converted to AeroStitch Darrien Pants w Roadcrafter Jacket this year and am WAY more happy. First Gear is good stuff; AeroStitch is REALLY good stuff. Glad I converted.
