Here is the best use of the trailer so far.....

My previous oversized trunk is now on the tongue along with the caribou plate, perfect setup for storage and tongue weight.

I just bought the smoker on Monday and just had to do this..... ::012::

Bought a used Bushtec trailer awhile back. Rebuilt the chassis and color matched the paint to the bike. Towed it around a little today and its working great!
Cool find a base camp and unhitch it.
What Model# Pelican bags are you using?

The close-up shots gave me pause for some potential issues. Can't really tell from just looking, so thought I'd ask.

It looks like the exhaust blows directly onto the left-side upright. I can imagine that getting dangerously hot.

The hitch ball looks like it is directly under the fender lip. Could there be contact with the hitch on full compression?

Do the footpeg-end mounts prevent the pegs from rotating up/back as allowed by the stock arrangement?

Is it too late to paint or powder coat the brackets? Looks like rust is forming.
While it does get warm after 8 hours on the highway, it's never to hot to hold.
 • The hitch ball looks like it is directly under the fender lip. Could there be contact with the hitch on full compression?
The hitch is attached at footpegs and grab handle bolts. Distance between fender and hitch never changes. Hitch gets closer to ground with suspension travel as does the fender along with it.
 • Do the footpeg-end mounts prevent the pegs from rotating up/back as allowed by the stock arrangement?
Pegs do not rotate with hitch installed.
 • Is it too late to paint or powder coat the brackets? Looks like rust is forming.
Never too late to paint. 4 bolts to remove hitch.

I have a UniGo trailer for my FJR for longer trips when I want to eliminate the bob & weave I get with the GIVI 36L trunk at speeds over about 65. With the UniGo on, I leave the trunk at home. The UniGo is easy to live with and doesn't restrict my riding in the twistys. I wouldn't mind having the option for the Tenere either.

I was looking closer at the pictures of this hitch again today and was wondering what the stand offs are for on the struts that come down from the passanger hand grips?

They look like stand offs for the saddlebags to rest against...
