Went over to motorcycleoutlets store and tried on the Icon Airlflite helmet. I can confirm it is a long oval, fit my alien head. They must like them to fit almighty tight, had to go up to a xxl to get it on, and normally use an xl. Fit was good, though they had nothing fancy, just the gold colored one. Gonna try back when they get an Arai Signet X in my size.

I popped over to Motolegends and picked up a Shoei Neotech 3. They offer the Shoei Personal Fitting Service there which uses a machine to map the dimensions of you head and then tells them where to place the padding shims to get a perfect fit. First time I’ve had that and it’s hugely improved the fit. It’s a free service when you buy a new Shoei.

It's pretty tight at first but loosens up. It's head shapes fault. Taper makes it a bear to put on. I always have to tuck my ears back up ha.

My signant was loud, squeezed my forhead, and the visor mechanism is garbage. At least it's almost a grand for the same level of protection as the icon.

That’s the other thing, $4-500 price difference is a pretty good wack.

Yeah the arai was a kick in the balls all around for me.

Still love my Icon.

About to scrub my pads and wash the shell. Also waaaaaaay easier on the Icon. The arai is a fucking puzzle. It's pointlessly over designed.

I can wear this helmet for a long time without being in discomfort. I often leave it on while I park my bike and get situated at home. Just to keep listening to my installed headphones in peace.
Very cozy.

Icon rolling out the next gen of 'Airflite'. I snagged a white gloss size L for the summer season for 130 shipped on evilbay.

I'll rotate with our two seasons and make em last longer.

Got the helmet in. Ordered mirrored lense and spoiler and got em swapped. Both helmets and add ons still less then my old sigant x.

They make mirrored inner drop shields. Prob do that next. Double mirrored lenses should help save my face some from being cooked this summer.

Good looking helmet. Thing I noticed with the half helmet is my face would cook from sun and wind. May have to look into a mirrored shield.
Does a great job cutting UV. Ran mirrored on all my helmets I've had.

I just pulled the trigger on the mirrored drop down sun visor. RIP wallet.

Ditching the clip mount. Using the supplied 3M mount.

Didn't like how the mount wiggles. Used some 3M bumper repair epoxy and tamiya model cement to hopefully fuse the two piece base.

I’ve had NeoTechs forever and they’ve been superb as a commuter but $900 for the 3 is just too much. Been looking at the LS2 Advant X modular carbon for $500 when the current Neo Tech is done. Wearing them in the store for a good 20 minutes felt perfect. Anybody have one?

Took the Ls2 Valiant I just bought on a ride yesterday. After about an hour the dreaded forehead burn started so I got to experience that for another 3 hours or so. What to do. Today took a quarter bag of lead shot and laid it on the forehead area so it could maybe provide some relief for next time. To be determined. Might have to take the knife or sandpaper to her. I do know that burn really sucks!
