I bought my 2016 SupTen in December and it came w GIVI boxes. I thought they were different sizes at first. I thought at first they were mismatched. Then I realized lately they were interchangable. When I got it they'd put the top box on the side and one of the side ines was on top[smg id=2563 type=preview align=center caption="image"][smg id=2564 type=preview align=center caption="image"][smg id=2565 type=preview align=center caption="image"]. Today I put the top one back on top n side ones on sides. The top one opens differently than t side ones and it lacks t side latches that the side bags have.

Hi, I have the 52 liter top case of this luggage. I am considering buying the side cases. On yours, are you running the same size on the sides? Is it possible you can post a picture from the rear of the bike so I can see how they look? Thanks!

I thought these Givi Trekker Monokeys were mis-matched in size intentionally, side to side, so the left side rack could clear the exhaust. That leaves the right pannier at 46L, the left at 33L, both protruding the same distance from the centre line of the bike. Then you have the option of a 46L top box, or maybe even 52L if that's still available. With OE Yamaha, the left box is cut away to clear the exhaust; not really feasible with a generic retofit system such as Givi or Kappa.

Not that any of this really matters, if you are content with the arrangement, can allow for the width differential & are happy with the balance of the bike.

Mine has a Kappa KGR33, kind of similar to the Givi Trekkers TRN33, except it doesn't have the smaller flip lids. It is near symmetrical if the panneir rack is PLR2119. So if a 46L side box is place on the non-exhaust side, it will really look out of place. Best if both are 33L boxes. From memory, the left box sticks out about 3/4" more than the right box. Total width with both 33L boxes (box to box), slightly greater than 38".

I finally pulled the trigger on the Trekker side cases. It's hard to spend that money but this will open up my ability to travel long distance!

I'm just doing some research in deciding whether to buy a S10 or not. One of my first considerations is luggage and wondering how the factory stuff rates against the aftermarket.

When looking for luggage for the S10, this thread came up and this post pretty much answers my questions on how to set up with the single exhaust. I currently have Givi E41 side cases and E52 top on my DL1000. I've been extremely happy with this Givi luggage with this set on both my '02 and '06 V-Stroms. Because the Vee had dual exhaust, it was balanced side to side with equal size panniers. Looks like a 33L and 46L side cases would work well, and give me almost the same capacity as I currently have.

I love the small access door on top of the E41, which is similar in function to the Trekker by the looks of it. I also like the single key to lock, unlock, and remove cases in an easy to use configuration.

Over the years I've had a couple upsets with both my V-Stroms. I was particularly pleased with how the bags stood up to highside crashes :( and availability of parts such as the lids. Because I could get replacement lids, I didn't have to replace the whole bag. I don't know if parts are still available like this, but Givi will likely get my business again.

Any comments from those who have lived with this set-up for a while?

What other bags should I be considering in similar price range?

I have the Trekker side cases, both in size 33, and the PLR2119 rack. Mounting and dismounting the rack is quick and easy. Had the bags installed this winter and haven't been able to test them hard. But so far I'm satisfied.

I wouldn't recommend the 33/46 combo. Looks awful to me. Check this thread, post number 363, for pics of both 33/46 and 33/33.

Thanks for the link. I agree the two 33's look much better. I'm not sure that 66L would be enough for me though, and two 46's might be too wide. Funny, first picture I see in the link is Jesse bags. Might be my other choice.
