I went on a ride between Pine Jct. and Deckers this week (reference for local riders). I came around a blind curve to find a mentally challenged auto driver doing a u-turn between two blind turns and over a double yellow line. Duh! Anyway an emergency stop compressed my forks enough to get the Extend Fenda over the oil access cover and it jerked the front tire to dislodge and woke me up even more!. I was fiddling with settings before the ride (es model) and had left it way to soft a setting for my weight exasperating the issue. I'm glad I did I would not want to experience that off road. Also happy it was me and not some young crotch rocket running into the u-turn fool.

Bought the bike used and the Extenda Fenda was already on and appeared to be a none issue. But it is.

I think the extended fender is great if you ride in a wet climate and are strictly a road rider.

I recommend that anybody who has a Fenda Extenda should take it off and put it in the trash, because they are a hazard. I hit a smallish piece of truck carcass on a dry highway highway at night. It somehow followed the tire to lodge under the Fenda Extenda, pushing it back to the skid plate. The steering was nearly locked instantaneously when the damn thing locked on the plate, which will get your attention RIGHT NOW! Fortunately it didn't lock the tire and I was able to coast off the road.
