I've been riding the past few days the France-Italy border with a friend and his Triumph XC, both Rally STRs' equipped (not my friend, just his bike).
The routes followed ranged from very good paved roads to very bad tracks (at our level of course), and including all types of intermediate tars and terrains, highways, grass (dry), mud, water, stones, gravel, concrete, etc..., just see pics.
The result is that these tires are good enough to do light off-road on passable trails (still at our level of course, we're not enduro specialists), but the big surprise came from their ability to have a good grip and behavior on asphalt too, and even in wet conditions (see tires pics for angle in corners).
It is evident that if you accelerate when angled, the tires lose grip like all other tires in their class, but in constant or progressive acceleration and without barbarian's throttle madness, they do the job as well as other tires more road oriented, but much less effective in off-road use.
So after 1500 kms of various conditions and surfaces, my opinion on road is positive about the quality of these STRs'.
I don't obviously talk about mileage 'cause too lil' distance done, but for moderate TT enthusiasts like me and riding on road without THE big fear of skid, these tires do the job at acceptable comfort and reasonnable price.
End of my lil' personal review, thanx for reading
