Im planning to go camping as much as I can next year. What are your favorite places to go? Im looking for campsites that are quiet with no hook ups thanks.

Check out Caprock Canyon State Park up yonder near Amarillo. Also, Tyler State Park in NE Texas. Some of the campsites are hooked up, but there are areas that are more primitive. This picture is in Caprock

and this is in Tyler

Big Bend has been one of my favorites. Camping up in the mountains around there even in summer has cool evenings. Toledo Bend over on Louisiana / Texas border is not bad as well. I typically look up state and federal parks and look for primitive sites. Usually less crowded and more peaceful. Always nice to escape with a bag and tent strapped to bike for a weekend. I am planning on at least 6 outings myself as getaways. Typically limited by how far I can get in an afternoon ride because of short weekends.

Cadoo-LBJ grasslands in Decatur! Pretty good amount of gravel roads and several small lakes in the area for fishing/camping. Plus for me, its only 45-60 minutes away from DFW which makes it great for short weekend trips. As a matter of fact, I'm taking my S10 on its first trip out there this weekend! ::013::
