I spent the weekend at the Indianapolis MotoGP with the Super Tenere. I saw probably a thousand bikes ridden in from all over the country. Hundreds of Ducatis, Beemers, and just almost anything you can think of but the only other Super Teneres I saw were at the Yamaha tent. The bike received tons of attention everywhere I took it. I know there are a couple others close to me but I have yet to see one on the road.

I had mine at a BMW rally in Red Lodge last weekend and it had a group of people gathered around it most of the weekend; I even had people trying to track me down when I wasn't at the bike -- there was a little stalking of 'the owner of the Super Tenere' a few times. Yeah, it's shallow, but I enjoyed it! One guy who rode an R1200 I believe it was (BMW's naked bike), said it would likely be his next bike...in any event, they were a great group of guys who don't seem to be too brand fanatical...

IL, the land of straight, flat, boring roads
I also rode mine to the Indy Moto GP. There were two of us parked on 25th street, near gate 9 where the MSTA cookout was on Saturday.

Hey Fred, did you see Vic Norton there again this year? He usually tries to be there and the cookout as well. I was at the cookout two years ago a block from the track at this tan brick house. Maybe it was the same location.
It looks like it was a good race, Spies made the podium. I STill like seeing the Honda's up front!!!

Fred

I was on the south side of the track. Parked on 16th street. Didn't see any Super Teneres on that side or in the infield.

I was at a charity fundraiser, riding to raise money for alzheimers. a bmw rider was quite excited about the tenere, he was on a r1150 (standard) with many distance riding accessories. I let him take a quick spin big blue, to say he enjoyed the tenere would be an understatement. and yes...it is nice to have not seen another tenere in 5000km

Welcome to the Forum and thanks for the "first post"! How about posting an intro now in the "Member Intros" section?

What color did you get?

Yes ... It's a nice feeling to be special.

The attention I get on the ferries I use on a regular basis is amazing: People just want to come over and start asking questions. I love watching the reaction when they learn it's a 1200. ???

Still haven't seen another one on the road yet.

Actually, the Blue bike sold on the forum poll at a rate of about 66% to the Black at 34%. I'm inclined to think the overall US sales probably reflected that sampling pretty closely.

I would say that makes the Raven Super Tenere a FAR more "Exclusive" bike to own.

Right, Rod?
