Hello all, #1 post here.
I have a DL650 2004 and feel the need for a big change.
I am thinking this would be the bike.
I am a bit confused about model years and availability.
Is the US market getting a 2012 S10 ?? and are there plenty of 2011's around??
I know it seems like a question I could seek an answer to on the net but figure you all would really know best-!!!!
Thanks and hope to be here very soon as a fully fledged Super Tenere owner
best,DT

Welcome to the forum DT. Glad to have you aboard. In the U.S. we’ve just gotten a batch of 2012s under a Yamaha priority delivery program (PDP Program) in late July and August…no 2011s. However, there appear to be some models scattered around from dealer buys and customer backouts. You just need to look around to find them. They’re out there; good luck.

Welcome to the group. I was riding and still have my DL-650 before getting my Tenere. I can tell you I am very pleased with the switch.

Welcome....
Good luck with your search.

If you can't find one in southern California , I have a blue Super Tenere with 600 miles that is for sale .

Welcome to the Forum! You are in for a huge change between the DL-650 and a SuperT. I'm sure with a little checking, you will be able to locate a 2012 someplace right there in LA, or a fly and ride somewhere handy.

Good luck!!!

Hello LoveLand CO
You are next to Ft Collins right.
Lots of great roads around there.
I have a XTZ ordered for mid Nov arrival so counting the days with fingers crossed they get it in sooner.
Thanks for all the words of encouragement everybody-!!

Welcome on, DT. You gonna be tickled pink. Or hopefully, tickled black. Too bad you have to wait, but it's not that long. Keep us posted, and post when you get it c/w pics. Good luck. R

Welcome along DT,

About the waiting thing.

I think it is a rite of passage with the S10, just to make sure you appreciate her when she arrives. 8)

That I am! About 12 miles apart, depending on where you start/finish. MANY great roads, both paved and unpaved here!!!

Make sure you post some pics of your new SuperT when you get it!!

I have this theory that the S10 is a perfect upgrade for DL650 folks. Why? Because that's exactly what I did. Retains a lot of what I liked with the Wee, but gives you more power/torque, higher quality suspension and improved comfort to name only a few improvements...

I picked up the new XTZ12BCL last Saturday. It came in somehow two or three weeks early ???? Somehow the "sister store" received it. Love it so far, all 175 miles. Absolutely zero complaints. I agree with RMac on the switch to S10. It is heavier for sure but you'd never know it unless it gets away from you in the driveway, fuel stop or ....
I sure would love to know what the "BCL" means in the model number. I am pretty sure some is California emissions designation ...

The blue ones are XTZ12BL and the blacks are BB. Looks like they add a C in there for California bikes.

Welcom to the forum.
