I've been looking for a while for the right kit in this regard for the S10. Wondering if anyone has installed this particular one and if so how you find it ??

It may be a wee bit more $ than some but, Seems there are some nice feature/functions as far as adding visibility goes: ::016::

multi-fx Brake Light Flasher with
Turn signal option
Emergency Flasher option

You can buy Tomar or Whelen lights for about $40 or $50 and for $15 you can buy a programmable flasher.

These lights make Hyperlights look dim in comparison.

These are super bright and will get a persons attention, even in the daylight. I removed the reflector and mounted the light there. It's about a 2 beer job.. lol

These are a little more reasonable in cost and look very bright
They are so bright, I've had riders comment on them in daylight rides. I rode behind a bike in the twistys that was using this light, and there was no doubt when he used his brakes.. Price is right and easy to install.

Dont forget the flicker feature. It flickers when operating as a running light further grabbing attention. I have the front photon blasters as well. Great product.

Just to complete this thread as fyi in case someone is trying to add these P3 lights: And thanks to folks with info in other threads - Mellow, Freebird (http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=1500.15) and also thanks Mingo! ::015::
Jerry at Skene Design also helpful and a pleasure to deal w/.

I Tapped into the wires directly beneath the pillion seat:

There are 5 sleeved wire bundles under the passenger seat and I slit the sleeves and found the wires.

2 are obviously heading for the left & right turn signals (green-right TS, brown-left TS)
1 is a black - common ground

there are 2 thicker looser sleeves, one - goes to the license plate light.

The other one has 3 wires in side, yellow-black-blue. According to the Service Manual wiring diagram, the yellow is the brake light, black is ground, blue is the tail/brake light aka running light.

The P3-TS directions are very clear on which ones to tap into.

Love these lights!

Best, d ::001::

Tapped into the wires directly beneath the pillion seat - Sleeved bundles and what's inside:

Snaked LED wires thru License Plate Light hole:

All cxns made:

All cxns wrapped and stowed:

I had photon blasters (what a name) on my Vstrom and I'm going to transfer them to my S10. Do you have any pics of how you did yours?

I just finished a project on mine and my wifes s10s. . . I used 2 whelen tir3's (one one each side of the license plate), attached by a Robert Radford Enterprise bracket. Not to brag, but it looks really good. And when you hit the brakes the lights wig-wag like police lights. . . When I get home from work today I will try to post pictures. If you want to be noticed when you hit the brakes this will do it. They are LED's so they use very little power. . .

Ok guys, here are pictures of how my project turned out. . .
Thank you very much! I have to figure out where to mount my forward facing photon blaster lights and my Admore light bar.

Thanks for the info, guys. As far as price, if I am looking at it correctly, it appears that if you wanted to have one light on each side of the license plate to be used as brake light, the P3 kit is actually cheaper. $125 incudes two lights plus brackets and controller. The Whelen TIR3's are $53.83 each, x 2 = $107.66, plus 2 brackets for $27.84 for a total of $135.50. If you were only mounting one TIR3, with no bracket required that would be a lot cheaper at only $53.83. I'm thinking the two mounted at the license plate look pretty good.

I have the Tomar lights they are comparable to the Whelen lights and they sell for $39.99

Hey Fredz
The bracket I used to mount my lights were from this company in Florida. His sight has some pictures on it you might find useful. He has a lot of brackets that hold lights that are motorcycle license plate specific.
Good luck. . .

I have a TIR3 that I'm getting ready to install as a brake light. One of these is all that is needed, and at that, it is so bright that it is almost obnoxious! :) :)

Two of those might draw unwanted attention from drivers of motorcycles with pretty blue flashing lights

I bought two of these. Installed one on the Tenere and another on a Yamaha VStar 1300. Used 1/4" aluminum bar stock as a spacer and for the mounting holes, and polished the edges.

.
These are made in the USA. They have many different "flash" modes and appear to be a sealed unit. VERY bright.
I set mine to "no flash" but may change that, later. Too bright to use for anything other than a brake light.

Here are some pics.

Mister japako -

Thank-you for this post. It was the basis for the addition of my light (above)

Thanks again

I finally was able to to find the time to install my Skene Design Photon Blasters on the S10. I haven't seen these on an S10 yet so I figured I'd post up some pictures.
