Anybody have an issue with the CJM mod and an engine light ?
I'm just waiting for AC to be able to flash Canadian ECUs . Meanwhile still have the fuse in the clutch switch . But rrecently been having issues with the clutch on start up . ( bike in neutral .. clutch pulled in .. start bike .. release clutch .. stall even though bike is in neutral ) this may be something silly as the bike seems to run fine
Any Ideas ???

Bike is at the dealer today getting the harness recall done , mentioned it to them , so see what they say .
I didnt have any fault codes that I could see but I dont know how to check .
Any info would be appreciated

Thanx TBC

If you have the light on, do the following:

Hold both buttons on the dash (that you normally use to toggle air/coolant temp and your trip meter) with the bike "off".
Turn the key "on" and keep holding the buttons until the dash changes to "diag".

That will bring you into diagnostic mode.

You really need the service manual to get a handle on what you are doing as the menu is quite intense.

Do you have the manual? This info is in/around page 8-36.

Have you done any other work to the bike recently?

I'm confused.... is the bike really in neutral or is the light just on with the bike in gear? If you give it gas as you release clutch can you ride away with the neutral light still on?

The engine will stall if you put the bike in gear with the side-stand down.

WOW you guys are quick .. Ok just back from the dealer , they did the harness recall .
ok Bike is in Neutral
I put the key in , hold the clutch in , turn the key on ... let it do its lil thing
start bike
let clutch out while still in neutral and bike stalls
engine light comes on
turn key off , remove .
start process over again but im keen on the throttle to not let it stall .

Asked the dealer he pulled code "13" and "14" but he said the codes were unrelated to my issue he figures its a fouled spark plug ...??

he cleared the light ..

when I went to ride home same issue it didn't want to keep running engine light came on again . Riding home it actually stalled while sitting at a light ..
Home now engine light still on ??? any suggestions . Ohh an I have the PFD super tenere manual AC.

Any chance you have done a throttle body sync recently?

The reason I ask is because 13&14 are MAP sensor. Under the conditions you are experiencing issues, the fueling is based on MAP sensor readings.

The MAP is mounted to the bottom of the air box and is connected to the left throttle body (all of this is from memory). I'd get in the area and check the wiring and hose connections.

Based on your dealer's help, but not fixing it I assume you are out of warranty?

But of course ... we had no deal up here like you guys south of 49 !! the yes warranty was like 1500 or more for 4 yrs .

Ive never done a throttle body sync although I would like too . Im no mechanic but I have the some tools and can read and this site and the other are awesome resources !!!
Im just back from a different dealer and he mentioned I may have some bad gas ..?? my last tank wich is half emty was from a station I never buy gas from and they use a fair bit of ethanol , he mentions this may be the cause of my woes and timing wise it sure fits .. Hmmmm Anyway I have 4 new spark plugs I will stick in and see .. Aswell I will check for loose wiring/ unfitted hoses but don't think this will be the case as there has been NO tomfoolery in this area since I have owned the bike

now on to the form about changing plugs ... ;)

On another note AC you just about ready to open up your flashes to the north ?

Changing the plugs is pretty easy. Lift the tank, remove the air box, there they are!

Remove the 4 connectors to the coils and carefully pry the coils up. Take note of the wire routing and which goes to which plug.

Remove the plugs like any other bike. Gap the new plugs and install.

If you are at all concerned about the fuel, get it out right now and start fresh. No point in messing around with variables.

Yes. Check the vendor thread.

I got as far as the plugs , before darkness set in and im kinda doing it outside as I have no garage . Took the tank right off and will purge the fuel . the airbox had a lot of residue or unspent oily fuel ?? there is a little drain with a clamped rubber nipple on the lefthand side it was full and there was enough residue kicking around in the airbox that it took some cleaning ( new filter is on the way have to wait for it to come in ) everything went smooth the bike is pretty filthy though . It was a factory Demo I bought it with 4000Kms on it so I think it may have had a blunt introduction before me . Im set on cleaning it up so I know what I have ( have some ACF50 ill use around the innerds too ). Thanks for all the responses and tips ! Im goin to run a PC-8 from eastern beaver and put a few farkles on while I have it apart . I will update once its all back together and see whats what with this ominous Engine light

Well I changed the plugs , and air filter . Cleaned and checked all , drained the tank dry and fresh gas . Fired her up instantly no light .... wait for it a lil stumble about 3 -4 secs then the light light came back on and the bike wanted to stall , I blipped the throttle to prevent it but when I stopped it wanted to stall :(

Today got up , fired it up again no light after it sits for a bit but seconds after start up a lil stumble and light on .. I rode it to the dealer where I bought it / where I was a few days back . On the way in at the start of the ride it was rough and stumbled stalled once as I was slowing down for a stop sign, seemed to get better as I rode ?? anyway its at the dealer now . Im very curious to find out what it is as I pretty much did all I could do with my knowledge and tool kit . To me it seems like something to do with the fuel but what ?? no idea I have no mods at all bike all stock .

Just got off the phone with the dealer .... are you ready for this

Fuel pressure switch/ sensor is defective . and apparently there is none around it may have to come from Japan . Ill know more on the time line on Tuesday .
Well just to finish off this thread :

My bike is back home , I was told wrong information which doesn't surprise me . So the dealer replaced the air intake sensor on the left side of the throttle bodies page 7-5 order number 6 it was defective , bike is back to normal now weird how that would go as the bike has only 12,000 Kms on it and while I've had it , it's been all slab
