New to the ST and to the forum so Im asking a question that has, probably, been asked a few times. I was messing with the bike to try and turn off the ABS using the bike on the center stand and placing it in second gear for a bit. Well the ABS never flashed to the off position but the check engine light came on instead. WTF??? It is a Gen 1, 2013, ST so if that pertinent let me know! I saw a reference to try and ride the bike a bit to see if it will reset. I also saw a reference to using the "diagonstic" program on the bike. Help I Hate trouble lights! Bike runs fine otherwise! if it doesn't turn off, after restarting it...then it enters to diagnostic mode, (acces using dash buttons)…and clears the fault codes. It’s logical that the check light appears, “one wheel is turning and another is not”….something is wrong, and the ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE OF THE ECU has in its brain that it has to warn by turning on the light…..the next time you want to disconnect the abs , remove the fuse from the abs motor….not the one from the abs ecu…

It, actually, went off right after I rode a few feet! Im going to install a switch off the ABS Motor fuse like some have done here. I may never use it as when Im going to ride more difficult terrain I have a Honda XR650R and A KTM 400EXC.
