stopped in to the Elka shop this morning where they still had a nice looking grey on hand to develop a new rear shock for our S10's . they are roughly 2 weeks out from offering a group buy. all of their shocks are custom builds so the turnaround is 2-3 weeks as I recall.
the shock is a 4-way (remote adj. high and low speed compression, adj. rebound, remote hydraulic preload) with their new hi-flow cartridge...the idea is that the new tech results in more seamless function when reversing travel direction, one of the first applications of this tech on their bike shocks.
the routing of the lines is a small pita as the remote compression reservoir is too big to fit behind the passenger foot peg bracket/frame without some monkeying around.

Very nice. My son has Elka's on his trx 450r. Nice plush and controlled ride for an ATv. Looking forward to reviews.

Nice, and Great pictures! They really do need to figure out how to tuck those lines behind the sub-frame.

I know I don't own a Tenere (YET!!). But I do have experience with Elka suspended bikes. I custom ordered desert shocks front and rear for my wifes KFX700 quad years ago. Night and day difference. In fact, I could hit just about anything and bend tie rods without fear of crashing

Also had the shock on my Ninja 650R. You can't go wrong with any Elka product. Their suspension is every bit as good as anything out there.

This is my buddies 650R. Between his skill, tires ,and Elka suspension, he used every bit of the tire. No chicken strips!

Here is my street version. Mine was setup for sport touring.

If I owned the Tenere I would not hesitate to get Elka products!

It is possible to do it, but Way more complicated. If you want to do it this way, you have to remove the subframe.

In my opinion, it is totally fine like this and it is easier for service, if needed.

I wanted to follow up.

I just updated my www.DerysDiary.com with the final picture of the Elka Suspension for my Super Tenere 2013

This is a MAJOR improvement compare to stock. I only did some pavement, but I see quite a difference. I can't wait to go off road now.

I am very happy! ::015::

I would like to add to the conversation but mine is sitting at my neighbors while I am out of province working for another month. The bike and shock are within 100ft of each other.

Great on the street, much more valving control than the stock shock. The group buy shocks are a bit different than pictured here, but pretty thrilled so far. Can't wait to go offroad.
