ECU self flash? Off to a rough start

Dear friends

I bought ECU flashing equipment from 2wheeldynoworks and their customized fuel mapping.
However, they provided me with - and only seem to offer - 6-pin harnesses to connect the computer to the bike. But the bike's OBD (located under the seat) is a 4-pin?? I know there's another one under the right fairing, but I think it's a 4-pin as well.

Is there an extra adaptor I need? Or do I need to disconnect the ECU? The instructions, unless I am the tool (which might be), are very unclear.
It's supposed to be an "on bike"-flashing equipment that you connect directly to the bike.

Thanks so much

This is a bench flashing kit so you have to remove the ecu first and flash it “on the bench”. I think that the short lead with the multi pin rectangular connector (which has the power lead coming in to it) plugs into the right hand side of the ecu. You then connect the usb lead to your computer.

Hi buddy, and thanks

I bought the "on bike" kit. Not the bench kit. But seems they sent me the bench kit? IDK.

Guess I'll just have to take the ECU out.

I don’t think Ftecu do an on bike kit for the Gen 1. I’ve seen one for the Gen 2 and it involves an additional lead which has at one end 2 or 3 wires with terminals that you push into unused pins in the existing ecu plug, plus a power feed, then at the other end, the six pin plug for you to attach the usb lead.

The on-bike 1st gen kit from FT requires you to splice into ECU wires to add a connector that the FT USB cable plugs into. There is no stock connector to plug into on 1st gen bikes that includes the required signals. You should have gotten wiring instructions from flash tune.

Guys, they're asking for me ECU serial number. Is there any way I can retrieve this without opening the bike up?

Friend, any chance you (or anyone else) would be able to confirm that this kit is also for "on bench" ECU flashing (ie. by taking the ECU out and performing the flash in the office) and not just by this shady pin-wire-connector solution? Thanks so much

That is the bench kit. The on-bike kit does not have the power wall adapter, or the multi-pin connector at the bottom of your picture.
(instead of that big connector, the on-bike kit has just the wires at that end of the cable, which you splice into the harness/ecu connector)

Thanks guys. I've received the flash maps. Still waiting for my arrow headers. Not sure if I'll bother to flash it twice --> received maps for aftermarket can + header and just can. we'll see.
