Correct me if I'm wrong but I think we are all agreed that the ignition barrel cannot be seperated from the imobiliser (the black item that piggybacks the ignition barrel. I think I'm also correct in saying that the imobiliser and ECU are paired, meaning that if one tried to connect someone else's ECU to their bike it wouldn't work.
Now..all of this is a prequal to my desire to pick your brains on the following subject.
Could one replace the ingnition barrel/imobiliser and ECU from a Gen 1 bike for an ignition barrel/imobiliser and ECU from a Gen 2 bike??
If I bore you with the reason why then my finger will get fed up with typing.
